If you wanna use the whole 5' area(they're 5' x 5', right?), you should go with the 1000, 'cause a 600 would barely do the job,(4' x 4' recommended, so side lighting would be needed to cover the whole 5' effectively) and the 1K would cover it much better, almost perfectly. With the tiny plants, though, you might want to buy some fluoros, T5's if you can. CFLs can work as well, but are much harder to setup correctly, and be able to compete with a T5 setup. I'd wait til they're a week old, or so, before hammering them with HPS/MH. Yeah, it can be done, effectively, but needs alot more precaution than fluoros. You can't have fluoros too close, but with HIDs, you can. If you're confident in you abilities, go with HIDs, for early veg, if not,...go fluoros.

so your saying i should pretty much use a 1k light for the flowering room and t5 flouros for the veg room. and yes they are both about 5'x5' and would the t5s be good for like keepin my mothers and shit under when they get at that stage?

and what kind of system you workin wit? what kind of system you think i should fuck with for a straight noob but still produce a good yield and be fire to.?
sorry for all the question bro.
thanks

^Yeah, the T5's will work great for veg, if you choose to use them the whole way through. If not, you can also switch to HID lighting, after they are a few days old, and more able to handle the intensity.

Check the link in my signature, if you wanna see what I've been using. I've been happy so far, but as always, am looking to upgrade, at some point. I'm thinking about going with CMH(ceramic metal halide), but still unsure. I want to check out Riddleme's results, and some others, before I make that decision.

nice setup...!!!

... I started with soil before switching to hydro... I love hydro!!! if you have the time and some loose cash, then I recommeding going straight to hydro and start perfecting the cultivation..

Thanks man. Yeah, hydro has been on my mind lately, especially since I started back to work. I like the idea, because I want something that I could let go for a week, changing the reservoir on the weekends, when I'm off.
