so i got myself a 35 plant diy aeroponic system from a friend i think he got the instruction on here maybe stickyfinger or someone like that cant remember that exact person who started it... well anyways i shrunk it to a 30 plant and instead of having it drain in a 20-30 gal tub have it setup just like a aeroflo and with the 1 1/4" drains into a 50 gall tub... my question is with the pump i readthru andheard people using 900 gph pumps or more so i bought a 1056 gph its sub. or inline and was wondering if thats gonna be enough power..? it seems like it doesnt spray like the ezcloner i have but idk if that because there in a fence post? just making sure i have adequate water flow before i plant my babies in it

i would lower that drain pipe so you dont have as much standing water, as for the pump i highly recommend that you go atleast 25GPH per spray head, so you have 30 sites atleast 30 heads atleast 750GPH pump, now you must understand that the longer the system is the less power you will have at the ends of the unit, every pump has whats called a max head at a GPH rating, for example your pump is 1056 at 0 feet, the moment when that pump has to push water 1' high it gos down to 800gph and the higher the head the less power you have, i used to run 1700gph's and were perfect for 5 channel systems at 6' long, as for the same system at 7.5' the sprayers at the end would just trickle, i had to remove a channel to get the last heads going, so distance from the pump is key, always better going for a larger pump than needed, also in the pix i couldnt tell the size of the sprayer manifold PVC, it looks like its 1inch PVC, the smaller the PVC the better pressure you will get

would a 1/6 hp sub pump workbetter idk what the gph on it is... it just say 1/6 hp sub pump... hoping it more powerful then the 1056.. if thats the case ill use the 1/6 hp for it and use the 1056 for maybe a 20 plant setup next to it if need be

Hey, that's a real cool diy system you got yourself there!! I love how the sites look to be on 12" centers instead of 6'' like GH's AF. The 'head room' is the important factor for this whole set-up. All of the spray-line rigs you have must be the same length and the sprayers spaced evenly. It may be a good investment to just get the correct pump; of course that sump probably has some power and may do it.....but I bet the person who ran that last did a swc/nft recirc? or something in a channel to that effect. So it looks as though you put in the GH grommets/drain and are going to attempt their nft idea too---awesome!:hump:
I 'll find the original diy on this system....thinking it was 'fletch' or...? Something else I'd think to change on that system is the way it drains in the hoses--too much bs.....if you could center your res under that end and drain differently/directly.....
Got the Wonderwoman, The Ultimate, and Moby Dick seeds(fems) into germ last night..... That ppp?? Got an lb cured out---some wicked shyte!! ot any pics of your WW yet??

haha:hump:

Hey! How many sprayers were you using for each channel, and were they EZ-Clone sprayers?

I have 4 channels, 6' length each, and with a ~1100gph pump is having a hard time with 20 sprayers, 5 per channel... Just like you said it's a head pressure issue, but maybe the 1700gph would work perfect. Also the manifold is 1/2" pvc, is there a smaller type that can be used?

Do you have a pic of it spraying?

Also, were you going to do the intermittent spraying? I have a 1/2hp sump pump that I was thinking of using, but I haven't tried it yet because they should really be ran constantly, then you need an electric t valve to divert the flow when it's on, the rest of the time it flows back into the rez.. I haven't had any problems with intermitent pumping of the cap eco pumps.

i dont have the best camera..but here ya go
Thanks buddy! That looks great. So that's 35 sprayers with a 1056gph?

I was trying to use mine upside down.. I wonder if its that simple, why it wasn't working like yours. Will try it right side up.

im sure yours would work if u put a 90 elbow on the end and snubbed it off so it props it self up... but might need middle support so it doesnt sag.. i was thinking of just buying the aerflo 2 lines and jimmy rigiing it up to my manifold.. i also mightnot seal the end of my post and just let it drain out the back but i might haveto cut a 1 or 2" off a cap forthe post so no light gets in there...idk what im gonna do exactly i just dont want any problems half way thru it like my buddy gman said run it for a couple days and work the kinks out andthen slam ur ladies in there :)

also yes its 35 sprayers witha 1056gph pump... gonna run this 1056 pump becauseit gives me the option to use it inline so i dont have to subm. it and haveto deal with it warming my res.

stinkbud employs his systems like this, with the spraybar right down the channel, personally i never liked this style, i always used an exterior spray line and drilled holes between or right next to each net cup, like filthy fletches and mogie's designs, roots get massive and i would be affraid they would block the spray heads, i will go find the link

diy aero.jpg

flowr23.jpghi fellers i built me an almost exact replica of the aeroflo 36 i like their lazer lines cuz they dont clog as aesy as the red sprayers and when it shoots water down into the tube it creates lots of bubbles and a fine mist

Sweet set-up there, rascal, is there a diy somewhere on this?? I love the flexy lines----and you have what for sprayers in there?? I run the GH AF's as well and just end up replacing the lines every few runs instead of ruining them trying to clean them out........

gman, or anyone else ;)

About those aeroflo lines... they look perfect for my needs. How many laser drilled holes do they have? Also, is that a 1/2", 3/8" or 1/4" quick connect, I can't tell from the pics and having a hard time finding specs, other than 6' ;)

thanks! rascal that is very professional looking.

sup yo, i use the gh laser lines as well in my diy aero my system is preety much exactly like the gh aeroflo same spacing , 3" net cups are 7" on center apart their is one sprayer hole fr each cup , a spray hole inbetween each cup. theonly thing i dont like is my rubbermaid rez its just cheep plastic im trying to find a good replacement, gh's panda rez is nice but its 200.00 freakin dollars . the clones in the pic are preety scraggely but fuckit im gonna try n fatten em up they all ready look better after being in the system fr only 2 days, oh ya and the quick connects are 3/4 inch hose thread4.5weeeks.jpg
