I brought home a small, weak Chemdawg clone from a dispensary last week because it was the only one left and they cut the price to next-to-nothing to get rid of it. For a few dollars I figured it was worth having a go. It was very thin, with roots just barely peeking out of the plug but the leaves looked strong with good color.
Popped it into a 1gal pot containing FFOF just like I've done with others in the past, and put it out on my deck in filtered sun, just like with the others. This time, I came home from work on the first day and found the leaves drooped and the stem leaning. Oops. Put it in the shade and next morning it looked good as new. Clearly, the lack of roots is causing too great a loss of moisture in the sun and whatever wind there was so I brought it in and placed in on a counter next to a bright window and it has looked strong for several days. Set it out in filtered sun again last evening, and within an hour it had drooped.
Finally, my questions: Is a bright, indirectly lit window good enough until it establishes enough of a root system to sustain itself? I do not own any type of grow light and clearly cannot place it in the sun. I'm thinking of picking up some root stimulant to try and give it a boost. Anything else I should do at this point?
Thank you much for any advice.
