help me please

I want to grow 4 small plants i got the room but not sure about lights and how much light i need to give one plant. i was going to use a 600w grow light that i can get for around £50

but i am not sure wether to get cfls instead because of lower running costs and heat.

how big do i need the plants to get an alright yeild small plants only couple feet tall if that.

and what bulbs would be best to grow and get results with andf how many do each plant need?

all help will be much appreciated.

I would rather get the HPS, but that all depends on how big your grow space is. HPS lights will give you more yield and better bud. Those CFL's are nice, but i preer to flower under hps.

In the dimension that you drew on there, i would say 1-2, depending if you go for 125W or 300W. I take it you gonna build some kind of grow cab in there?

yh man just thinking bout how i'm gunna do it because im not sure if theres room for a hanging growlight so might just get cfls but i would prefer that 600w growlight but i really cba with all the effort of sorting out loads of cfls so im not really sure what best for in there.

Hang it. The 600W HPS will be more than enough for 4 plants mate. You'll just have to deal with plants that wants to grow taller in a different way.

sounds like a plan heat the main prob plus height of plants, but it cheaper overall to get the grow light plus get better and more weed of plants for the price i spending on lights think that what im gunna do tbh but i just thinking bout height cos i dont really know how to trim the plants to keep small like where to cut on the plant and shit so have to do my research still :-o

I have same dilemma cfl against hps in my wardrobe. Heat just a mjor issue for me. 600w is going to shed shit loads of heat right? And expensive to run electric wise :/

true say man. but cfl long i dunno where to gett them splitters and would have to hangers that plug in to mains for like a fiver each so to have 10 bulbs would cost me 50 in like wires so really dunno what to get, plus you have to hang the hot hps bulbs away from plant and i dont have that much headroom to hang above and still have an alright size plant

I grow with cfls often in veg put them out in may for flowering.I have a time or two taken and grew one all the way with cfls 12/12 after the first week about 3" tall and it gives me around half oz to oz at the end of things but never tryed more than that way at a time.I'm sure wit four a week in you could start with 8 23/26 w cfls. for my one plant i run 4 23w 2700k and 2 26w 5000k not a bad mix buds stay small but strong and good to tast:)

yh thanks ill look into the cfls but i think the splitters banned in england :-( have to have a really good look around. im prob gunna end up using cfls if i get the money i will prob haev sum flourescent tubes on the wall at back so side of the plants get light think i could get a decent grow going with cfls quite soon plus im gunna want em around for summer :bigjoint:

I dont see any spec on them as to k /lum so Im not sure how they will do I'll get right back to you I'm going to go look for info on them..

Well bro didnt find much on the lights,and since I'm not perfect I'm going to say this to you if those lights are easy for you to get and cheep for you,then get 4 to start off with and see what your plants do and how they respond if they grow slow or you find them to be stretching get 2 more if they show good growth leave things alone, rem most stains of mj are forgiveing and will bounce back from our mistakes.I learn alot from reading on here but most will come from your tril and air..good luck bro

thanks man for helping me, i got a 70w one in my garage that puts out 7500 lumens so not sure how many lumens these would put out or if there even a link but i think im gunna get a couple of these maybe 4 or 5 prob shouled be enough light for 4 plants you reckon?
and do you think they will work for flowering and vegging?

the rule of it all is like this 5000/6500 k for veging with about 2300 lum per sf and for veging you can mix up the lights if you wish, there is many thouts on it but I just make sure i have more 2700k light hitting the girls than other.. play with lights and you will see. your 70w garage light prob is in the 5000/6500 range being better work light so try it and see for veging.try to keep your lights close to the girls like 2/4 inch away thats after they are growing well (not your young seedling)..I have grown mj under 2/ 65w inc lights and went right into flower with them took awhile longer but worked:) and the buds where not all that tight.
