Help me pick a MH/HPS setup, convert a newbie from CFLs/Flouros!

I want to join the MH/HPS club. I'm a complete noob at it though. I know one is best for vegging, one is best for flowering. Can someone please recommend an online link where I can get one, and a plug/socket to screw them into? I want to start small. 400 watts or less? I'll only have one-four plants, in a closet, nothing big.

Floros are easy, unscrew the bulb, put the new one in with the new kelvin rating. Apparently MH/HPS is more complicated.

Things to consider...budget, space available and functionality. How much do you want to spend is the first question. My digital 400w HPS cost me 189 shipped to my door via ebay/htg supply. Which leads me to functionality and space...I went with a grow tent 4x4 with fans no a/c and I wanted an open design, no tubes or enclosures to mess with. Bottom line KNOW what you want in hood, it does make a difference in your wallet and in the long run. A ballast is next, digital ballasts run mh and hps, just swap a bulb. The other magnetic style are heavy,get hot,humm like crazy and are cheaper. But cash is always a factor and ebay offers better deals. at great discounts, a way for you to decide how far to take your new hobby.

Lumatek is suppose to be the best along with hortilux lightbulbs.
