i would just go out and get everything you need to do this, set up a nice and neat spot, and start over. if you just have everything set up before hand, things will go so much smoother, and you shouldnt have as many problems. its tough when you have to rig something up as you go along.
ahhh let em learn

Its looking good now man. Its a little small and stout, but thats because of inadequate lighting.

But its looking good. Looks healthy now

I do see a purple tint to the main stem and fan leafs stems
How old is it now?

Well, Let me rephrase that. Its small for 3 weeks because of inadaquite lighting. As for the shortness and all that, Yes, that is good, but it coulda looked like that being almost a foot at that age.

Your doing good for the lighting your using. If you had HPS light. You would have a 8inch plant that looks like that.

It looks great though. I think you could do really good with HID lighting

I am also use to seeing plants grow with HID lighting. When you use CFL you can put them so close to the top that they just stay short and bushy.

So for a CFL grow. A++

ow ok thanks i understand now lol.
hey for only 4 daylight cfl's i think its not that bad.ya i know if i had more in the box it would be way better but the other bulbs i have im useing for my seedlings trying to get them going.i have other bulbs for flowering u think i should add some of them to my box?
i heard by having a couple different light spectrums helps out the grow for the better.
u thik it would hurt if i added some of the other cfl's?plus i was thinking of makeing another box so i could have one for flowering and one for vegging

Yes different light spectrums do help. And the more lumens the better. Thats why during flowering plants like HPS best, it has the correct spectrum.

What i mean is the genetics some plants for example Blueberry hydro is a fairly shorter plant that looks like a bush compared to a kick ass christmas tree

thanks everyone for the comments
ya this is the only plant besides the 3 or 4 sprout i have now.acually i have 2 that sprouted but i looked in the soil some and some others are about to come out real soon :0)ya im going to look into better more powerful types of lighting but for now u all know what im going to be staying with :0)
and ya then i think i will add some more of those other bulbs in the box then.and ill add them on the sides of the box so it will get the under side of the plant.

Sorry, but I do not agree with any of you guys talking about inadequate lighting with cfls maybe in flowering. I am growing with cfls only because my current situation. I have grown 3 different grows using my 400 watt hps with mh conversion bulb and the plants look the same. I have a cool tube so I can put the lights closer than people with open air reflectors. My plants look exactly the same as they would with a metal halide for veg. The only difference I can see is that with cfls its harder for the lights to penatrate the lower leaves. Focusing the majority of the light on the canopy. I believe for flowering yes, there will be inadaquate lighting with cfls, but it still can be done, just look on riu. Now on the other hand growing with hid during flowering is much more ideal, better bud formation, better lighting and perfect spectrum for budding.

Also, with the shorter more bushier plant at 3 weeks is outstanding. Why would anyone want any type of stretch in veg???? When flowering the plants grow 2-3 times there original size so what does it matter anyways? With a shorter plant there will be nodes exploding out of everywhere which in turn equals more colas.

I have posted pictures of my babies and let me guess it's too small right????

3 weeks 2 days.

Lol....If you have enough CFL lighting then its fine. But because you keep it closer its shorter and bushier. I am not saying its a bad thing, I am saying it be nice to have the plant look like that but be 8inches tall, and I am not talking about being stretched. Ofcourse you want a plant to look like that, but point was simply he could have even better results.

Umm, never seen your pics, but your probably working with more lumens. And you can grow a perfectly fine plant with CFL's. I guess you misunderstand what I said.

What does it matter? The yield in the end matters. But your right, he is doing outstanding for what he is working with.

Nah, yours look fine. His is 3 weeks he said, it should be about your size. But you have better lighting right?
