HELP ME..maybe a prob with clones,anyone that has done clones sucessfully can help

Hi, cuttings went in on the 31st of jan..
clonex gel,
45 degree cuts, presoaked cubes (warm mineral water),
2 drops of hydrogen peroxide,
propagator (heated),
aired 4 times a day,
sprayed 3 times (mineral) (bio rhizotonic a few times),
temp (20-25),

its a week and a half later theres a little yellowing going on now but they still look healthy and the lid is off the propagator now after 3 days of opening the vents little by little. I know it can take 2 weeks or more but my question was this..around the base of these babys theres a bit of white "tissue" which I first thought could be rot but later went with the idea it was the plants placenta type tissue from which the roots are born. I was having a butchers just now and a cube split abit and I couldnt help taking a wee peek and the end (half inch long and in the cube) looks like the end of a bone lol!! swollen, white and well the shape of a cartoon dog bone... is this usual or somethings gone wrong??? again looks healthy (white) but I'm egar for them to finish as theres a small pest problem (little orange/red bugs maybe spider mites under my leaves) which I cant treat until the babys are rooted..so anywaay again dose this sound normal?? cheers guys

No, it doesn't sound normal. Allowing light to reach the rooting area can prevent roots from growing at all, so it's usually better to just wait and see rather than check. Keep in mind that the bottom leaves will yellow when the clone starts growing roots because it is feeding on them. Never spray clones. If the plant gets its moisture from the top, it has no reason to grow roots on the bottom. Always avoid getting water on unrooted clones.

What's your light cycle? Roots grow fastest at night so all cloning should be done with the longest dark period possible.

Sound like mites. Uhh, annoying. Hard to rid. Once a Week, I move my plants. Spray area with Pest Killer from Home Depot.

I spray mine under a humidome because i like to keep i high humidity for my cuttings. Also I squeeze the cubes after I rinsie them so my cuttings dont rot. Put them next to a window sill and heat source and you should be golden 95%. I have always sprayed my cutting tops but he does make a good sounding point. do what works for you though

Often growers will spray the underside of the humidity dome. This raises the humidity without getting water on the clones. Whenever possible, it's best to raise humidity by warming the underside of the cloning chamber with a heating pad. It will keep the rooting parts of the clones warm and the warm moisture will evaporate and fill the chamber. Using this method, too high humidity is much more common than too low and the lid may need to be set ajar to correct.

out of interest what is the hydrogen peroxide for? seen a few ppl using it when dealing with clones

cheers guys..the hydrogen peroxide is to kill off any nastys in the water and prevent molds etc..after closer inspection (on one which I can afford to loose) I saw tiny little tips of roots coming outta the white swell..they are about a mil long and look like rose thorns. the lighting is 20/4 gonna change tomorrow to 18/6. I give v little spray bout 3 times its gone about half an hour/an hour later..so not sodden but just a lil kiss of water..I think its ok :-/ but as with anything time will tell...if I dont see roots by the begining of week three its a loss right???

Not exactly. Some strains take longer to root. Up to a monrh I hear. I have a homemade clone bucket and always see roots in ten days. I know my buddies method with the same strain takes up to 15 days. Strain and method are big factors. If they still look healthy and are not taking up too much space I would leave em a little while and see won't happens.
