First off sorry for no pics. I try to get some up later. Im growing indoors under CFLs. Im growing 3 blue chess by big Buddha, 1 pure gold by g13labs, 1 ak47 auto, 1 white widow, The 6 plants where germed on 20/1/09 sprouted three days later and are now 2 weeks old. They are in jiffy mix pots with jiffy mix organic seed starter peat moss. Here is the problem: they are only like 2-3 inches tall. with 2-3 sets of 2 real leaves. for the past 3 days the leaves have started to yellow on the edges. the leaves are pointing up a little, not curling but they are so small i don't think they could curl. any way i think the cause is over watering.
I have watered them every two days. twice with SPT and once with BMO grow at 1/3strength.
The temps where in the mid 80s i installed an extra fan and now are upper 70's. Humidity is low (high 20s) when the lights are on bc of the fans. i have a pot with water in it to boost the humidity.
Any suggestions???

Thanks in advanced. I know its a lot to read.

Pretty hard to burn them with cfls. The problem is they dont need nutes at 2 week old and they dont need to be watered every 2 days. They are babys and barely have roots. I dont feed till 4 weeks old with a extra mild solution. Then about 1/4 strenght at 5-6 weeks. I water when I pick the pots up and they feel light. About 3-4 days on average. Over nuting causes deficencys and over watering stresses the plant and root system. Both cause your plants to stop growing. I fertilize then ph adjusted water only every other time. It leaches out the old ferts every other watering and prevents deficencys. My Blue Cheese is tall and bushy, gonna put her into flower in about 2 weeks. You might want to get a humidifier cause your humidity is way low and that makes them work harder at transpiration and slows growth too. Stop feeding and over watering and they will start growing for you. Check out some of the FAQs they will help you out too. Good luck with your grow show.

Without seeing them it is hard to say but my guess is nute burn. Seedlings do not need and should not be fed nutes for a while. What I have read is the seeds contain nutrients for about two weeks or more so to feed them before that you risk burning them. Even after two of three weeks a half solution or less feeding is not at all a bad idea.

You may be over watering them too from what you said but I think that is less likely the problem though it could be a combination of over watering and nute burn.

I don’t think that humidity, or lack there of, is the problem either since it seems that you have been giving them at least as much water as they need if not more so it is not like the air should be drying them out.

I’d stop feeding them for a little while and maybe cut back on the water a bit and see how they respond but that is only a total guess without being able to see them clearly so that is your gamble to either take or not take.

Your temperature might be a little high but I don’t think that is your main problem. I like things around 75 degrees myself but I do know a lot of people like it warmer and I know a lot of people who like it cooler so I really cannot say what it optimal and especially in a case of mixed genetics like you have going.

You said you are using CFL’s so I doubt that it is a case of them being to close and putting off too much heat so I wouldn’t worry about that.

If it is nute burn and you keep feeding them putting the additional fan on them will dry them out causing them to take in more moisture which means taking in more nutes so that might make things worse even though I do think the temp you said it is with the additional fan is better.

What you may want to do is check the temps at the top of your plants right under the lights and if they are high, which I doubt since you are using CFL’s, but if they are raise the lights and turn off the additional fan. That will reduce temps and slow the uptake of moisture and nutes into the plants and once healthy you can lower the lights again and not over water or over feed but right now you need to worry most about damage control and saving your plants more than trying to make them grow like mad by giving them the maximum lighting and watering and feeding. Get them healthy first and then do that stuff.

Like I said based on what you said and with no pictures that are clear so anyone can really get a good look at your plants so they can make a good diagnosis my guess is nute burn.

Thanks for the advice. Ive cut back a lot on the watering and reduced the light a little to be able to lower the fan speed and keep a good temp. I hope the plans make it. The AK47 is the one handling it the best. WW is also coming back fast.

Thanks again. If any one is interested ill start a grow journal. just pm me.

Ok so its been a wile since I started this endever but heres where Im at. I have a 150W HPS and on 32W CFL running 18/6 shedual. wattering with PHed distiled water every 3-4 days. The first set of real leaves have tured yellow. there about 2-4 new pairs of leave that are light green and curling down. the yellowing leaves have brown spots (early nute burn from STP and BMO Grow at 1/3strength ) temps are runing at 75 F, 25%H. the only thig is I worried about is its been 3 weeks and these plans arnt groing up. the are gettting new leaves but they arnt growing up at all. the inly one is the auto AK47 ant its only 4 inches tall, all the otheres are like 3 inches. The are in peatmoss organic seadling soil and in jiffy pots. Ill try to get pics up tomorrow. Any suggestions on why they arnt getting big?

The pots are about the size of 16 oz cups, maybe a little smaller. they are made out of compresses peat moss. How would i flush them? just water with plain water ? Im doing that. anything else?
Thanks CG
