First time grower here :wall:
So I have 4 diff strains of feminized seed from a. Friend germinated in RO water For 16hrs then planted into black gold seed start mix (peat moss pearlier & wetti agent) 60 seeds total into 3in pots. Watered in with RO & 90% sprouted w/in 24-48 hours!
They were under domes to start then they outgrew them pretty quick ..
I have them under 2 electric sky LEDs @ 50% strength and they’re about 2 feet off the canopy.
basically the seeds got real leggy & starting falliby to the side so I put more soil around the stems to stabilize them but they seem to be growing slow anddon’t look all that healthy

bad lighting spectrum? Not enough blue...?
help ! Please:bigjoint:

May be related to the domes, as they will block a lot of light and cause the seedlings to stretch.

I don't use them at all due to the above, plus the risk of damping off.

To be fair though, the basic problem is not enough light regardless, and they certainly should've stopped stretching after the domes came off if the light level was correct.

the lights are @ 50% and are about 2 feet off the canopy 300 watts total - should I crank them up to 100% ? That would put 600 watts of strong LED over the 4x4 canopy seems like a lot of wattage for such young plants but maybe that’s what they need?

I would gentle spoon them all up, then replant them, burying everything up to the suckers, then quit watering them so much, when they are that small I only give them 15ml / 3 tablespoons, at the base of their stem every 3rd day, and I keep to that to at least until they get to 4 nodes!

Update : lowered the LEDs to about 16 inches above canopy and have been trying to dial in the environment more, used my laser thermometer and the leaf surface temp was a little lower than I wanted it (60s) when my inkbird says the room is at 80. so I got it to where most of the leaves are around 70-75 now, bringing in a 600 watt hps soon. They are still going a little slow. Even a little algae here and there

The lights are on @ 100% now as well
So you’ve never grown doing 60 plants and you don’t anywhere near enough light even after adding that 600 watt hps. also since you’re using leds you need to bump the temp in the room to 83 at the very least especially if you are using co2.

I’m not using co2. yet. The room is now around 85. My fiancé started them with me & got a job growing pretty far away so I said I would take over. He helps me here and there but I’m trying to do it on my own!! I’ve watched him grow for years but never got into it myself .. yes 60 plants are a lot! I’m down to about 50 now. I Also have 2 more fluence LEDs at my disposal when they get bigger and need more space/light

For 150 plants I generally have a little over 10k in watts per room for reference.
