help me decide?

Only say it because Most of the LED guys stick to the LED section.

thanks for the insight man i asked sunni but i guess busy?

Lumatek is several leagues above Mars, Spider and other similar brands. It's a much more quality light. Go for Lumatek and don't even think twice!

Although personally i would go for Lumatek 465w 2.9 or even 600w but as you wish.

yeah thats what i’m thinking. believe me i’d love to run the zeus pro 600w if i had an even canopy and more money haha. thanks for your input. i’m definitely leanin towards lumatek 99% there now.

You won't regret it i'm sure :)
Lumatek's numbers and certificates are real, they follow strict standards and tests. But Mars numbers are highly inflated, and i doubt their certificates and quality checks. They can use quality components but if they are not assembled and checked properly, they won't be good. Not to mention they sometimes send wrong parts, for example a different driver brand than advertised.

I'm running Migro Aray lights now, but for my next bigger tent i'm definitely looking at Lumatek or OpticLED. Those 2 are my top options.
I had a Mars Hydro light once, and i will probably never buy it ever again. It came with a bent reflector, the light was running hot like a toaster and it smelled like burned electronics. Then i waited for a refund for 2 months going back and forth through e-mails. 0/10 i wouldn't recommend. Those who had a good experience with Mars are lucky. I read a lot of reviews and there are many bad experiences as well.
I would only buy Mars again if i was rich enough to afford gambling lol..

I understand your canopy issues. But in my country 1 x 600w is about the same price as 4 x 200w. Just find a good trusted shop with a good customer service who will honor your warranty, since Lumatek doesn't sell directly, only resellers.

my feelings exactly, mars hydro doesnt incite trust in me per se. lumatek on the other hand, hell yeah.

where i live the price difference is enough to buy another 200w attis so i just dont want to go with zeus pro and plus the uneven canopy makes it even worse. but if i did a single cultivar or uniform cultivars i’d definitely go with zeus pro that light is sexy. but tbh attis looks very cool too. i think i’ll be happy with it.

yeah with resellers its always a mystery if they’ll honor the warranty or not but i worked with this hydroshop for a long while now and been very happy with the service so i’m hope-timistic about it ahha

thanks man i’m 99.9% now unless someone comes in with an amazing new aspect or info on mars hydro :D

I like the idea of 4 lights alot. All mine are sets of two covering 2x4 each of 4x8.
Mix of QBs and Highlights .

Used lumatek ballasts for years when I ran hps .
Loved the 600 Pro when it came out but just don't need another light. One day though..

Yeah that makes perfect sense, makes it a lot easier to adjust. And also Attis has additional far-red diodes which the Zeus doesn't have, so it's a plus :)

There are satisfied Mars customers for sure, maybe someone will bash me for trash-talking against them lol, but that was just my personal experience. Good luck with your decision and happy growing!

yeah me too and that .4 umol/j is not a deal breaker for me really. 600 pro would be a bit better and i’m still on the fence maybe i can give the hydroshop a visit and see if i can get a deal on that, if they give me a good price why not right :)

but if i go that way i should definitely eliminate cannalope haze from my 4x4 and grow it in a dedicated 2x2. doable but not ideal.

well the strange thing is spectrum has far red but specsheet doesnt specify what kind of far red diodes they used. but still seems like 4% far red is a nice addition to the spectrum.

also one other concern well not concern but something to consider is that these attis produce a blue heavy light ime, i mean if i were to assign a kelvin degree i’d say about 4000K is what i see with under these lights. this may not be 100% accurate but i’m a cinema major so kinda familiar with lights etc so its fairly accurate i’m sure.

but all in all my diy setup produced higher kelvin lights too. i had 10 3000K 6 4000K and 2 6500K so pretty much the same spectrum and i actually liked this spectrum a lot during my years with this diy. and added far red may be even better with this spectrum.

maan zeus, attis, zeus, attis, zeus, attis which one should i choose hahah

no no its attis although i should see if there is a deal on the zeus if not, attis!

thanks man happy growing to you too

It's still not too late to check OpticLED as well :)
You can adjust the spectrum with 3 drivers, has Far-Red and UV, 3.0 efficiency, 10 years warranty, Samsung and Meanwell, all that jazz..
I drool over it..

man those lights are good. at least in theory they look sexy as hell but i really don’t want to confuse myself at this point. i’m already pretty indecisive and buying from a local shop would be better warranty wise i don’t want to ship internationally if something goes wrong. man those lights look good tho. but i need 4 independent fixtures yeah, no. definitely i’m getting the attis this time but next time i certainly will check out opticled! looks amazing for sure!

For sure man. Don't take my words for it though :P

The way I figure is when your spending + or - .20 cents per actual watt on lighting (with SILs), you save enough money to basically pay for the future electricity bill too, lol. Like.. many times over.

You can turn off series/rows of bulbs with switches, or even simply unscrew them to save power. Use lower wattage bulb but use more, and they last longer. You can spread them out as much as you want, without buying 4 commercial lights. A COB is no different than 4 14w SIL bulbs worth.. other than the diodes are all packed together, making them burn out quicker and need more power to cool. Your not screwed when the main driver or a few LEDs burn out, you just screw in another bulb that you pick up the same day for a few bucks..

When efficiency cost more than the electricity it was supposed to save in the first place (spending over 4x as much for a 5% gain?), it just seems like a lost cause IMO.. Underdriving expensive parts just doesn't make sense to me...

i have earned the right to kick back and buy prebuilt at this point. i’m a sucker for comfort haha
