Hey All, first post here. Im looking to replace my HID system to save a little bit on the electric bill. My biggest reasons for doing so is because I do not have any a/c in my grow room so I want cooler temps. I also want something safe. Plugging in these old magnetic ballasts before i leave for work scares the hell outta me.
I want at least a 1000w HID replacement. Im trying to trade with people local to sidestep the huge price tag but I have no idea what brands are quality and what brands should be avoided at all costs.
I saw the Spectrum King 400+ and a SOL 9 900w 100w X 9led. The spectrum king has tons of videos and comparisons which makes them seem good also they claim to penetrate the canopy much deeper (this is extremely important right?) The SOL uses 100w leds as compared to others using a bunch of 3 or 5w leds, so does this mean the SOL can penetrate very well to?
Im looking in the 1000-2000$max range, is there a better option I should consider or a brand with well known results?
Edit. as a side note I would also like something with replaceable parts. If i buy a $2000 light and half the lights go out i need to replace them rather than buying a whole new unit.
