Basically, I live in an apartment and I can not grow out door and don't have enough spare room for anything to large. Thus, I have decided on a Dual PC Grow. I hope to achieve close to a Qup every harvest and plan to have 2-3 plants in each unit.
This will be my set up and cycle:

I will be building these myself
Two 'SkyScrapper' PC Cases 8x19x22H
8x30W 6500k and 8x30W 2700k CFL's
(4 for each unit for each cycle)
Two Power Cords that the CFL's will hook into.
4x80mm Fans | 1 for Exhaust; 1 for Intake per unit.

I am thinking about starting with either Cheese and Mazar or Aurora Indica and Mazar.
All are very short strains and easy for beginners from what I have read.

I need help with:
Since I am going to go with soil to start off with, what is the best medium that I can get at lowes or home depot?
I have never toyed with nutes? Do I have to add these or is watering okay? What would be the best nutes to go with?
How can I make a good working carbon filter for a pc fan? I have heard that there are tutorials, but I can't find them.
Also, does anyone have any experience on how to power these small fans or the best placement for them to be stealthy?
I have read that in micro grows such as this one, that you can start and finish in a 12/12. Would this be a wise or unwise idea? It would def help the pocket book but I am trying for a QP goal every harvest.
What is the best way to get the perfect humidity?

I will start getting this equipment next week. Once built, I will then germ 6 seeds and if I can fit 3/unit I will try, if not the extra two will make up for ungerms, ect.
The strains I have chosen all flower within 8 weeks so the seller says, but if all goes well I should be smoking my first every grown marijuana on my birthday with curing taken into account. Please help me make this gift to myself come to life!
