I made this diagram based on using an 18 gallon rez with 10 gallons of water on a 4 week veg and 8 week flower cycle. I plan on using an aero setup. i also need help to figure out when to use the snowstorm and gravity and how much. any suggestions would be great.

also do people actually follow the nutrient calculator? because i see alot of people saying start off with 1/4 what the regular amount is. so would i start out 1/4 and work my way up to the full amount of what it says?

Yes, start with a weak nutrient solution. Your plants only need it about once a week. pHd water works wonders on its own otherwise!

ll the nutes you posted are for flowering. I get the impression that you are yet to start your grow...
When germinating, you just need plain water. What medium are you growing in? If soil, It has ample fert to last you 3 - 4 weeks.
Else, you want any Nitrogen high fertilisers, until flowering.

Cheers.

Just go with a good balanced NPK fert, containing all micro and macro elements such as molybdenum and what not.

Good luck

I believe voodoo juice is a root developer though..
I have not started a grow yet. i am looking into nutes right now and figure that part out. i will be using rockwool cubes in a aero setup. I just want really awesome results, and with all the different brands of nutes and all the extra additives it makes it real tough for someone that doesnt know much about any of them to decide.

i am also very interested in Connoisseur AB for flowering. but i would like some recommendations on what nutes and additives to use.

My suggestion to you would be to keep it simple......and affordable.......General hydroponics Flora series....flora micro and flora bloom (lucas Formula).....click the link---> https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/4387-lucas-formula.html

good tasting good looking bud comes from good genetics not a bunch of bottles.....

1 gallon General hydroponics Flora Bloom $30.45 http://cgi.ebay.com/General-Hydroponics-Flora-Bloom-FloraBloom-1-Gallon-/260622526865?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cae502991

1 gallon General hydroponics Flora Micro $36.00 http://cgi.ebay.com/Flora-Micro-5-0-1-General-Hydroponics-1-Gal-/370343455782?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item563a30ac26

that is very interesting and alot cheaper. but what i want to know is if this stuff works as good as AN then why is it so much cheaper. I know AN over markets etc and i see alot of people that talk shit about other people using other stuff. i have seen some die hard AN fans out there and it really makes me wonder what is actually correct and not correct. I just want the best possible results. before i read your post i came up with this list of nutes i was thinking about

vegging:
Sensi grow A&B -m $90.00 - 4L
b52
voodoo juice

flowering:
Connoisseur AB - $164.99 - 4L
voodoo juice - $96.33 - 1L
big bud liquid - $123.08 - 4L
bud candy - $68.58 - 4L
overdrive - $34.79 - 1L
final phase - $45.48 - 4L

but the final price is unreal. So many people swear by this stuff though and i watched the nutrient challenge on youtube but i have a hard time believing their results. I have also seen a ton of people say that GH is crap. I would be very interested in it if only i knew more.

All I can say is try them both......I have tried different nutrient brands....I can try and give advice based on my knowledge.......General hydroponics works as well as the more expensive brands at a lower cost.....after you get your system dialed in you can try using additives...........I only use 2 additives myself, purple maxx snowstorm to increase resin production and bushmaster which stops vertical growth when transitioning into the flowering stage....thats it....I pay more attention to the environment my plants are in and feed them what they need...........

the fancy package marketers love you!

why buy into the hype????

just get a nute that has what the plant NEEDS

look for a NPK ratio of 3-1-2 for veg and 2-1-3 for flower pretty simple

all nutes are not the same. If you weren't running aero i would say go organic. but with synthetic nutes i would say that h&g, canna, and advanced all put out a superior product compared to gh. but more important than the nutes is how they are applied. you cant develop a feeding schedule if you dont have a strain/s to gauge it off of. start with good genetics and then start out with a lite dose. experiment your first couple of rounds and you will have a decent feed schedule. but if you are concerned with the quality of your product dont skimp on the nutes.

I limped into hydro only using the base GH nutes of Flora Gro, Micro and Bloom. Harvest after harvest, I would add an additive like floralicious or FloraBlend or sweet to see if they were worth the price. They were worth their price and did make a difference and now I use the entire GH expert line. While the lucas formula will work fine for a beginner, the GH additives DO work yielding higher quantities and better quality.

ok i will figure out my own schedule, can anyone at least tell me what weeks i should use snowstorm ultra and gravity?

gravity says use once or twice about 3 weeks before the end of a plants cycle, so does that mean use it for somewhere around weeks 4-6?

You can use snowstorm ultra in the res or by foliar application.......the safe route is to foliar feed them....start with 1 mil per gallon to be safe.....start when flower clusters are visible about 1-3 times a week until the end if you want..the only thing is when you foliar feed late in the flowering stage you got to watch for mold....so be careful,it does work wonders though if used correctly......ok for gravity it is vital to use 3 weeks before the end of the plants life cycle or your buds wont finish filling in......plus you need to raise your lights a bit too......and you need to drop your nutrient strength by 1/3 at least and run for 5-12 days....if your plants are not healthy at the time of application it can and will kill your plants....Humboldts additives do work but are not for the novice.....they will kill a crop really fast so be careful and remember less is more......

I will keep that in mind, thank you. I will buy all my nutes and do 2 seperate grows and maybe reservoir feed SSU on one and foliar spray on the other. What do you do? foliar spray?
so for gravity use for 1 week within the last 3 weeks or use for the last 3 weeks? so on a 8 week strain start using at week 5? also on a 8 week strain, when are you suppost to flush? after week 8 or at week 8? i want to make sure i flush out lots of stuff before harvesting.
