Help me before I loose her! Too much heat or too much hydrogen peroxide?!

Stats:
-DWC setup
-Ionic hydrophonic vegetative nutes
-pH is 5.8-6.2
-two 23watt CFLs
-Air temp WAS very high (high 90s) until today. This is because I am running a new mini-scrog setup. It it now at a steady 85-86 degrees after I re-did the ventilation.

So here's the deal, over the last two days this little guy was growing fine, a little wilted due to high temps but it's taken a turn for the worst. The only thing that has changed in the last two days is the addition of hydrogen peroxide to its veg solution. It is 3% hydrogen peroxide at a rate of 1 teaspoon per gallon. The roots are now also looking a little slimey but are not discolored.

The leaves are turning a greyish color and are drooping/turning crispy

Help me before I loose my first DWC try!

This is what im used to the leaves looking like in veg when I grow it in soil:

Stop the Hydrogen Peroxide.... if fact wash your resevoir out.... put in ph.ed water and check it everyday,.. aka flush that bitch. You have a fan in there to stop the heat wave? You dont need a complete closed enviroment as of yet if your worried about smell. Open your cab/closet up to give her some fresh oxygen and help the temperature. How many airstones you have? whats the roots chillen in? a bucket?

that's exactly what I thought, ok I'll pull all the water and put in some regular PHd vegged water.
-It does have a fan, and it's at 85 degrees now consistently
-there are two big air stones in a two gallon tupperware, so o2 levels should not be a problem at all

Excellent, it sounded like you got the ideas from the SEEMOREBUDS movies... only good if you know what your doing... just stick to the basics and make sure your tupperware isnt CLEAR.. your light is not good for roots.. if so just wrap your clear containers in ... i dont know.. just make something up.. good luck..

just a thought, but that chicken wire almost looks galvanized, i would never use any metal around my plants. i would switch to plastic mesh instead.

h2o2 3% application rate is 15-30ml/gallon (1-2 tbsp/gallon), so you didn't overdo it with 1tsp/gal.

imo, your res temps are a breeding ground for the slime you see, and it is temporarily cured by the h2o2 but will soon reappear if the res temp isn't dropped to the low 70s. res temp is very important in dwc.

you soil plants look awesome btw.

i guess im a little confused then as to why there were no problems with the DWC when it was warmer and had NO h2o2 in the resevoir? And almost over night with the addition of the h2o2 all these symptoms appeared?

Is there anything such as a reservoir chiller? chiller?

i don't know either, h2o2 turns into h2o after a few days and should be harmless to you plants at the level you're applying it. speak to any dwc grower and they'll tell you high temps are dwc's worst enemy because it creates the perfect temp to breed all those nasties.

there are definitely res chillers out there, but they run a couple of hundred and add extra to electric use if you have the budget. also, you can throw frozen bottles of water in there everyday if you're looking for a cheap solution.

yeah that's not in my budget lol. Well I guess i'll let this plant try to recover and see what happens, if it doesnt seem to recover i guess it's back to the good ole soil grow for my mini SOG project.

I use about ummmm a tablespoon per gallon of 3%, cept I use it in a stronger grade, so its around.... umm a few splashes per 15 gallon? Hell, I dunno, but it turns back into oxygen and I only use it when I first make my nutes up and buffer them. So much science involved, but my thoughts are this. Buffer tap water with acid, add some h2o2 to help nuetralize shit in the water, bubble for 4 hrs or so to help mix level, recheck ph, buffer back down, add nutes. Bubble for a couple hrs, and there you go, stuff that doesnt kill plants at least. Since I water on a 4-6hrs cycle, I do all of this right after a cycle, and usually let the fresher, buffered, not nuted water, flush the system.
Then add my nutes and reset timer. My bubbler comes on for 6minutes when the pumps do, and go off accordingly. After the first day of new nutes, I let the timers handle it all. After about 48hrs, the ph settles, and I only have to lower it about every 7 days, to 5.8 from 6.6. (tap water's at 7.6 ) Advanced Nutes told me ph raising over time is no big deal, and just to keep it from swinging or going crazy! So far, 8 plants in 15gallons changed every 2 weeks is good to go. I try and clean the tanks and hoses about once a month. My first hydro grow is actually working. I dont know if its easier than soil or not, but its sure less mess. That and no wondering which plants are needing watered. The h202 dosnt seem to be hurting anything and all my gear/roots are clean thus far.

Just noticed the date of your post. Damn!! Any update? Did ya go back to soil or plow thru?
