i just went outside to look at my plant, its been a couple days, and what i saw scared me. the bigger fan leaves are turning yellow and dying off. is this normal? or could it be due to the 3 days of rain we just had here. i havnt used any nutes or anything. i hope she isnt dying.

here are a few pics

The bigger leaves will something start to yellow towards the end of flowering, but they will still look healthy (aside from the yellowing). If the plant hasn't been fed any nutes yet, it is time to start. The plant is essentially canablizing the larger leaves to keep the rest of the plant alive.

If you are well into flowering, don't worry about it. It's common for the large, lower fan's to die off at this stage.
I just pick them off to allow more light into the interior of the plant.
Good luck & good grow.......BB

i was trying just to go without any, i have seen a couple people say it will do fine without. but if i really need some what would be something i could get locally? i know fox farm isn't available around where i live and id prefer not to order it online

what about the bigger leaves in the middle? are they supposed to do the same?

That Sir, would be a personal problem. YOUR grow situation must have a "general" mold problem. Picking the dieing fan leaves can't cause mold to spontaneously appear........BB

I never remove a leaf before it is crispy. As mentioned, taking them too early exposes a plant to other problems. There really isn't any hurry.

Why not let the plant do things it's way, just like the last 100,000 generations?

We didn't invent this weed.

I agree, unless you got a big bunch of em' down in there screwing with your air circulation or something. The extra rain water could've helped em' go to ,if you were already watered good. I have personally ever saw mold suddenly appear after a thinning out either, soooooo..........I had to comment cause I saw 2 of my favorite growers on here, putting their two cents in!
