Help, I'm a mess.

Good morning!

I am not an expert, or even a novice, but I need some expert advice!

My little plant is growing decently well, but I repotted it from a solo cup to a larger container, maybe too large... AND i might have damaged the roots during transition because it did not come out well or easily...

I've been growing it with just natural sunlight, because I really just found a seed and planted it to see what would happen. But when it started to really grow, I purchased a grow light, a horribly cheap $20 one with purpleish/pink light.

It's looking a little wilted, but not overwatered wilted. I either did a lot of damage during transport, or the light is too hot and shriveling my plant like SpongeBob in Shell City.

Can anyone advise what I should do? Im not very good at this and really have no knowledge except what I've found on the internet.

Follow up question: How far away from the light should the plant be? Like distance between light and plant... 1 ft? 2 ft? 6 inches?

Just give it a few days it will be fine. You should be safe with the light at 12”.

It's been two days since transplant and... I just got the light and haven't built a box for it yet so it sat im a cabinet with the light in close proximity... i messed up. :( but i have 7 other seedlings in solo cups that I just planted and don't qant to ruin them. So if i can figure out where i went wrong here, maybethe seedlings will work!

As a general rule, I keep the lights elbow to fingertip distance above the tops. When they are that little, 2’ is good. I think she’ll be just fine. They always go through a little transplant shock but will bounce back in a weekish. Also, using B vitamin helps with transplant shock :)

Welcome to RIU.

It really doesn't look to bad. Just get that light within 12 inches and give it a couple of days unmessed with and you should be golden.

I like that the site is setup in a tutorial format.

Good luck with your grows, and welcome to RIU.
