So here are some pics, the plants look good, but i noticed they stopped growing, like they went into nute block or something, so when I went to check the PH, I see there was all this slime and gunk on the roots, i am using an aeroponic system with drippers and the usual, bubble stone, pump, etc. I am following the FF's hydro schedule, and instead of adding nutes to the res for the 2nd week, i changed the res, like all my friends told me to, maybe I should of just added to it. My roots were soooooo white and vibrant, and now, I am soooo depressed:cry:

I can not figure out why this happened, and i really don't know what to do. I sprayed the roots by hand with a sprayer with only ph'd water in it to 6.0 and cleaned the roots, then an hour later, they were slimy again.

What can I do to fix this? Should I empty the res and just run ph'd water for a day or?

Please any and everybody, if you can help, it is very invited and needed.

thanks in advance

in aeroponics everything has to be sterile...and i have learned thru experience that it is better to have a seperate tote for ur res so there is no need mess with ur roots when changing it
also temperature of water is a big factor in aero and root rot...it should be around 68f

And I as going to run PH'd water only for a day to hopefully clean them out?? any thoughts, amybe with some ice cubes in the res?

u can clean it with bleach....make sure u thoroughly rinse it
as of cooling u can try liter or gallon bottles frozen with waer...this takes constant movement of bottles to maintain temp
there r also water chillers, evaporative coolers

wow
thats def ur prob
get some root rebound and use that
try to at least get it below 72
thats the main reason y u got it...that and exposure
the seperate res makes everything easier

so what should i do right now at 3 am in the morn ing, lol. i was gong to run just ph'd water with som eice in the res, but how do I properly sterilize the res?

yeah they should start dying off with lil necrotic spots and just progresses from there
hard to tell how long u got ...if u dont fix that temp not long...
cleaning the res and getting the temp right will prolong ur life til u can get the root rebound...after u get all that done u will be good if u can keep the temp good

and that is ok for the plants yeah, also what about the pump and the airstones and the tubing, how do you sterilizer all those things?
i would put bleach water in res and run it thru everything...some say that running peroxide thru it will kill it but i dont think so....RINSING is a big factor in all of this
and yeah h2o2 is fine for the plants

Ok, so put hydrogen pyroxide and bleach together in the res?

here are a few pics i just took of how they look, the plants, and i just sprayed the roots down..

The 2 on the left are bubba's, the middle are late entries, OG's, and the 2 right are white widow. I just caought this a day ago, just a few leaves are turning yellow.

Bleach WILL KILL your plants, use peroxide with clean PH water for a few days, changing the water each day. As for the bleach take your plants out of the system and then you can run bleach through the system. Do not let the bleach com in contact with the roots, it is just as toxic and deadly to them as it is to us. I am surprised no one told you to use Hygrozyme, it will eat away all the dead infected roots and turn them into nutrients. I am not sure if it actually kills the root rot but it will take care of any decaying root mass that will feed the root rot. Also I do believe some SM-90 will kill the root rot.

How long do you run the bleach in the sys, and how long does it take to flush the bleach out. And you do mean through the whole sys, the pump, tubing, etc?
