Help how to water when away

I need to water my https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/184018-trashcan-grow.html

box when I am away for a week. I can put a bucket on the shelf but I do I slow water ? I could but it outside for a week, it only a trash can.

can I just soak the bottom inch of the pots in water ?

I don't want to loose my babies.

How big are they? How big are the pots they're planted in?

You should be fine if you water them well before you leave. These plants are hardy and don't need constant water. My plants are all around 4 inches in 8 inch diameter pots and I just watered for the first time today in over a week and a half. They've been doing just fine.. Don't worry about it too much, yours will be ok.

The water meter show after 2 days some are very dry, I then water. Never tried 3 days. Maybe I am just afaid for my babies.

they have crystals that you can use that soak up water and distribute over time

Just go buy two of those self watering bulbs from walmart if you're that worried. I'd say they'll be fine if you give them a good watering before you leave. Plants bounce back from underwatering pretty well, the overwatering is what they don't recover from.

after three days my babies were drooping. I want to see if I could go a week, I think they would be dead. I am going to try the crystals and see how they look after a few days, then I will let them go a week if all looks well.

this time I am posting in the right thread, I just got up and posted my reply to the wrong thread, and all I have had is coffee.
