Ok, So today i went to Wal-Mart and baught Miracle-Gro and SuperThrive, I'm afraid i'm gonna over fertilize or do something wrong with them, I know miracle grow isn't the best but i'm gonna use it anyways for a few reasons, but anyways i've got a water mist bottle i plan on mixing the Miracle-Gro with it and spraying the whole plant down with mist with that, Then i plan on mixing Miricle-Gro, SuperThrive and water all in a cup and watering the roots, This is my first time growing and i'm doing it in soil, So please give me pointers and anything you know about these fertilizers, How often do i use them, How much, What to mix with what, How to do it, I need to know it all. Thanks

Justin,

P.S. I'm new here and i plan on reading the forum daily so hi everyone :eyesmoke:

I wouldn't foliar feed with miracle grow. Read the back of the package and use 1/2 of the recommended dosage. Don't mix it up in quantities less than 1 gallon - if you try and mix just a cup of fertilizer water you are guaranteed to get the ratios wrong unless measuring it out with a scale.

Haha, That made my day. But i know that and that's why i'm asking everyone on the forum, I don't expect the best from my first grow, But i'm ready to learn anything i need to know about growing.

Oh, Well i feel like a idiot asking this but foliar means spraying the leaves with fertilizer and water doesn't it?

Yes. I would only water it into the soil and not spray it on the leaves.
Thanks so much, So what i do is mix Miracle-Gro, SuperThrive, And water all together and water the plant that way? i just read on the back of the SuperThrive you only need a drop of it in the watering can, So do i just mix all that together and water it?

right, but mix in a GALLON of water and test it out to see how your plants respond. Also, water with nutrients EVERY OTHER watering cycle, do not water them with nutrients every time you water ok?

I personally use Arrowhead Spring water which has PH level of 6.8. I buy the 99cent gallons from Albertsons Grocery store.
make sure you don't use water that you don't know the pH level of, as this could cause nutrient take up issues down the line.

Thanks! but i read on the internet that i could use water from my fridge if i let it sit in my room over night in a open container, Is that true? or should i use bottled from from the store just to be safe.

buy a pH kit from a hydro store, they cost like 5 bucks. then measure the pH level of the water and make sure the pH level is below 7

if your fridge has a filter then that water might be ok to use, but like i said you should at least confirm the pH is below 7

Thanks so much, I'll try and get my hands on one. If i'm using all these fertilizers and growing with a regular seed how much will this stink exactly? Because if i can avoid buying a carbon filter i would like to.
