Help first time grower ph

I'm sick of giving all my money to the dispensary! I don't even smoke that much but between me and my girlfriend it really adds up, quick! So with that said I've been trying to grow for about three months. I've been plagued with problems that I'm just slowly adjusting to (ex: light in res, broken ph meters)

So right now the set up is a closet separated into two rooms, a mother room and a larger veg/flower room. I have 2 rubbermaid's painted black with aeroponic misters and 6 net cups each. Theres one more in the mother room with 5 net cups. If plants start growing I plan on investing in an aerator but I don't think it's necessary yet. I'm using a 90w ufo light, one for each bin. Theres no fan in the room (other than the 9 from the lights) yet but I have a 6inch inline for scrubbing if/when the time comes. The room is a fairly big closet and with led lights it doesn't get hot in there. I don't have a hydrometer to check humidity. I tried having the foggers on 15/15 but it seemed to be off too long so I plugged them in 24/7

For ph'ing I have general hydroponics dry "ph up" and "ph down". I got a milwakee ph51, and it broke for the second time. I'm using drops now and I have strips available but I find them both quite hard to read accuracy. I've been ph downing my tap water before adding it to the res. 1/2 tsb(I think) per gallon brings my water to about 5.8 after 10 minutes. I've gotten a habbit of checking day and night, when I checked the next time the ph was extremely low so I added 1/16 tsb per gallon. When I checked back hours later the ph on the meter gave it's final reading of one and the liquid drops gave a reading of >8.

I successfully managed to sprout 7 bag seeds in rockwool, out of 17. The plants are exactly 8 days old since sprouting and are starting to grow 3rd leaves. All of the plants roots turn a brown colour and shrivel up when they peak out of the bottom of the net cups. One of the plants has also gone completely soft mid-second leaves and fell over and I'm expecting it to die.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong anymore, I'm careful with adding the ph powders, only a little at a time but I still have dramatic effects. Should I get a smalled spoon? I can only measure 1/8, 1/2, 1 tsp.

I'm growing some old bag seeds and dark knight seeds from a seedy quarter, I have a few more dark night seeds and other cali bag seeds, and a few seeds I ordered from the internet that I haven't felt comfortable to grow yet. Any tips would be extremely beneficial. If plants start growing I could start a journal, I can flower 12 plants legally in California.

pictures can be taken.

5 minutes to 4:20!
Time to smoke a bowl of sativa spirit, what are you smoking?

dont focus so much on Ph. it IS important. but you have other variables to check. such as amount of light. the light cycle. watch some of the free grow videos on the forum. or watch some of Jorge Cervantes videos. they are for bigger out/indoor grow rooms but he explains alot and all of the stages of the plants

I use General Hydroponics PH UP & Down powder and it drops 1 gal jugs from 7.5 to 6 with about a 1/8 tsp/gal

*Disclaimer* All statements made above are purely fictional and hypethicaly what I may do if I were in that situation

For one you can`t water 24/7 They`ll drown.Plants need oxygen. An aerator in the nute tank is a life saver.Plus I for one don`t like led lights.A couple of 4 ft shop lights with t5 bulbs work great.Cheap Too..Good Luck on Your Grow..
