Help fast! seeds sprouted!

I've been getting ready for my first grow, 1000w hps / soil

HERE'S THE PROBLEM
My 3 or 4 weeks to prepare have suddenly turned into about one day.

I HAVE SEEDS HAVE SPROUTED ROOTS
Here's the thing. I have a friend who has given me 7 seeds of a very high quality, rare, and heavily guarded genetics. I was asked not to reveal the true identity, but I plan on keeping a journal, and the plant is so unique some of you might be able to recognize the strain.
The problem is, He gave me a container with the seeds already wrapped in a wet paper towel. When I showed up at his shop, knowing that this is my first real attempt at an indoor grow, he had been germinating them for 24 hours already, thinking he was doing me a favor. He assumed I was all ready to go.

For the most part I am ready but I really dont know what I'm doing. I'll Just tell you guys what my short term plan of action is, and see what you all think. please feel free to tell me if I'm doing something all wrong.

So, I plan on grabbing some soil from a local hydro store this afternoon.
1. I plan on planting the seeds in little cups of soil.
2. Almost all the seeds have sprouted within the last 24 hours. How long do I have to get them into soil?
3. Should I use any type of nutes at this time?
4. I have a T5-44 florecent I was planning on using at first.. How long do I use this before I put them under the 1000w hps.

These are just my most imediate concerns, so lets start with this and deal with the rest as we go.
I'm hoping I can get enough help here along the way.

Don't panic, lol. Your plan sounds good. Get a "cool" soil for seedlings maybe fox farm light warrior, your hydro store guy should point you in the right direction.
get them in soil asap
no nutes at first, I wait a few weeks but depends on what's in your soil. Then start slow on nutes.
t5 are great for veg. How long is up to you and how big you want the plant. I would wait at least till you have five nodes.
talk to your guy who gave them to you for pointers assuming he ran them before.

Don't panic, we'll get you through the early jitters.

1. I would get some 8 ounce or so Styrofoam cups, like the ones for small cups of coffee.
2. Take a pencil and drill 3 holes along the bottom of the cups for drainage.
3. Get quality dirt like Fox Farms which needs no additives for seedlings.
4. Put enough soil for 7 cups into a mixing bowl and add 6 ounces or so of warm water. You want the soil to be wet enough that you could form a snowball.
* Remember that the soil will shrink up in volume when it gets wet so start with 10 ounces or so of dry soil.
5. I use 2 toothpicks to separate the seeds and taproots from the paper towel matrix.
6. If the seedling has a 2inch root you use your finger and drill a 2inch hole in the middle of the cup of soil.
7. Using a toothpick, I maneuver the s'ling into the hole so the root is at the bottom and the seedcap is just about level with the top of the soil. Many will argue about how deep to place the seedling but this method has kept my perpetual grow going for a decade.
8. Using the toothpick to keep the s'ling in place I pack the wet soil around the root until just the tip of the seedcap is visible. Pack the soil around the root pretty firmly.
9. Using a sharpie, individualize each cup. For instance -- if I'm putting 7 OG Kush seedlings into dirt today I would write "OG K - 11-11 -A" on the first cup, "OG K - 11-11 - B" on the second, etc.
10. I use a 400W bulb for vegging so you want to place the cups under a bulb that is on 24/7. Again, some will argue for a different time schedule but this works for me.
11. Try not to move the cups after they have been placed under a bulb. You want to maintain the same orientation between the cup and the bulb to prevent the seedling from twisting around to face the bulb.
12 Water carefully. With the soil sufficiently wet to start you shouldn't need to water for 2-3 days. I use an old Dawn detergent bottle (rinsed out well!) to dribble a half-dozen drops daily of regular water at the base of the plant.
13. Optional - I use a spray bottle to mist seedlings after a week in dirt.

That should get you started for about 3 weeks. When the larger leaves have grown out enough to be as wide as the cup you can start to think about transplanting.

nb - I know there are a thousand variations on starting seedlings but again, this protocol has worked for me for a long time. I understand and respect other methods.

^ both good advice. they're plants, in nature, seeds fall to the ground, get walked on by animals, shit on by animals, shit out by birds that ate them, and they still grow....don't flip out, just stick em in some pots, give em some kind of light, and carry on till your room is ready

As has already been said some good starter mix soil in smaller pots under the t5 with no fertlizer should get you by for the time frame you already laid out. I'd go with a 4"-8" pot for seedlings but isn't necessary, just my preference. The biggest difference is that you wouldn't have to water for 1-2 weeks.

Bro, this is the easy part right now. When you get to flowering is when you need to be on point.

You still have the time.

I’ve been using a pocket knife on my styrofoam cups to makes 3 1”x1”x1” drainage holes on the lower part of the cup.

Are you going to use soil or coco? I bought a big bag of Perlite to mix with my coco to promote root growth.

I’ll add a small scoop of perlite to the bottom of the styrofoam cups. I also do that when I get into my 3 gal pots, lay down a bed of perlite before adding coco.

So, got them in soil.. under lights. and also another seed poped. So 6 out of 7 so far!

Looking good. Just keep an eye on that humidity, 33% is on the low side for this part in their life cycle

Don't have permission to view journal.

The peat pots you have them in will tend to wick away moisture especially in a low humidity environment. Be careful not to let them dry out. Been there, done that! LOL

I Just about did. woke up this morning and my soil was completely dry all the way through. the little sprouts even started to slump a little bit. I gave them a good watering and they already look better.

Get a spray bottle and mix up some weak kelp or seaweed extract solution. You can spray the outside of the pot a couple of times a day to keep the moisture level even, without drowning them. It would be easier to bury the whole pot in a solo cup using seedling soil and go from there. Trying to keep those things wet long term is a nightmare.

Well first would be a humidifier.

If not that then adding some wet black trays that will evaporate. Also a wet towel in front of a fan helps.

But for any real affective measures a humidifier works wonders

I feel it. These peat pots are a pain in the ass

Dude if the Genetics are a Rare Line ,Then does it really matter about letting us know what the Make up of them is ,After all we don't know what the male was Like or the Female ,that he used in Getting this strain.I use Coco with my seedling's ,or Bio Bizz .They will be fine ,seedlings take a couple of week looking like not much is happening but its all going on below the soil ,they are building a good root system.After this time they will start to grow,Hope all goes well with them ,Just make sure you water then allow to dry out then repeat.Not many strains out there that have not been worked with All ready ,But its the Pheno's used in these crosses that make them,one off's.I'm sure if you put the two parents into google it will come up has a Named strain,I agree with the Foam Coffee or tea cups ,They are great for seedlings and clones,because of the way they keep the Roots Warm.But make sure you do what was said above plenty of drainage holes.

Making Me Nervous ,just looking at these pots on this wood .Put a small piece of wood at each end ,So the seeds on it ,cant Tipple over,Try not to have any over hang ,on the piece the seeds are on ,or very little over hang.Accident waiting to happen.You be gutted,if they fell over and the seeds got broke .I try and get a Wider piece of wood . been there Done it.
--I--O----O----O-----O-----O---I-- Like this.Having the Humidity higher would help,But has the Plants get bigger and start to Transpire they will raise the Humidity,But they look like there doing ok ,so i would not worry about it too much,In future try and use a more lighter soil base ,instead of the one your using,
