Help! Failed Top & LST (with photos)

Hey all- I am a new grower trying to figure out what I'm doing now that my state is legal. Growing in fox farms soil 5 gallon cloth pots under LEDs in a tent with fans, humidifiers, and exhaust with carbon filter.

6 weeks into growing 5 plants, decided to try topping 2 of them to learn about training. Here is pre-training -

Figured I would try to top as well as clip the very small leaves and sites that weren't seeing light hoping to direct growth. This is what it looked like when I was done topping and trimming,

And about a week later, sadly looks like my first attempt at topping and LST was a failure. Looks like I may have killed this plant altogether :(

Any insight on what I did wrong and what I should have done to make it proper is much appreciated. Thanks!

Your good, the two new sprouts to the side are now your apical (main) stems. There is no set rule, I usually wait for the 6th real leaf node and top it back down to 4th. This way you have a much better target and thicker starts to your mains.image.jpg

How long has it been since you watered? Fan leaves will droop like that when thirsty. You're topping went fine, make sure if using scissors that they are clean. When I top I just bend the top over towards the ground and it'll snap off. Either method works fine.

Don’t over water, back her off from light a little until she starts praying to the light. Usually a few days then she will start busting out.
