help clones burning under hps light +rep

I have 6 clones vegged for about 3 weeks ,I just put them in flower under a 400 watt hps ,And there burning up,The temp is @78-85 and the light is about 18 inches away
i have another 400 watter right next to it flowering other bigger plants and there doing great no burn......So whats wrong with these clones was it to early to flower them there all about 12-inches

root system is not established quit yet like the larger plants.

Thats why they are drying up.. cant suck up moisture with them tiny roots.

Best thing to do is put the clones under flo's til they get bigger.

rep given should I start vegging again or continue flowering but under t5's for a couple weeks

If you are going to put clones or small seedlings under a HID light, you need to keep the bulb at least 2 1/2 - 3 feet away and slowly move it closer each day to prevent burning or drying out!
