Help choosing an LED

Wondering if the extra cost of the HLG 300L rspec is worth it, in comparison to the HLG 260W QB VS Rspec. I assume the extra 40 watts will help with yield, but how much does the deep red light addition on the 300L help?

I've been looking at them myself.

Rather than get the 260W rspec, I might opt for the 260w 648. Has better spectrum.. slightly more red, and 2x more blue than the rspec

Yeah, I see that on the graph, which makes sense in the 648 possibly being a bettwe choice. How does the blue light help with everything?

whatever you're using you can expect about 1 gram per watt so if you're using 200 watts then expect about 200 grams of dried bud if done correctly :)

Nice! So do higher levels of blue and red spectrum increase those potential yields to more than a gram per watt?
if you want to increase your yield then use more blue spectrum in veg and red in flower. :) higher watts on the bulb and area obviously increase the yield too

Sounds good, thanks for that info. I'm kind of deciding between these options, currently. I also heard that new versions of HLG are coming out, in a couple of months, but not sure if I want to wait much longer.

Both of these models incorporate deep red monos.

They both use the QB 288 V2 R-Spec boards. 272 LM301H and 16 Osram SSL 660 nm diodes per board.

The HLG 300L R-Spec is a ready to use fixture with a 3 year warranty.

The QB 260 V2 R-Spec is a DIY kit that uses the Slate 2 double or triple heatsink
(xl kit). The kit requires minor assembly and has a 1 year warranty.

Did you buy the light yet? There is a 10% off code you can use.

Edit: I see that you already bought the light. Good luck man, that looks like an incredible light!
Damn, wish I knew.. woulda saved me almost 50$, but it is what it is.

And yea, I'm excited. Is my first LED, and will be a HUGE upgrade on my 150w HPS. Should be able to grow REAL plants now xD

I still havent chosen, because I'm being indecisive.
If you tent is large enough to support the higher wattage, wouldn't even consider the 260w.

Then it's just a matter of the rspec vs the 648. The rspec is a bit cheaper, 648 seems to have the overall advantage though, and be a more well rounded light.

That's how I made my choice for the 648. Figured the extra 100$ was worth the better spectrum

Yeah, I definitely agree. You have a solid and valid claim of the 648 and it seems worth the price upgrade. I was going to go with a 3x3x6ish or a 2x4x6ish footprint. I'm basically trying to decide, if I want to go with the 260 or 320 with 648. I dont know that I want to drop that much money for the 320, which is the main factor.
