running 4 bubble buckets. and just heard a pop sound and air pump got real loud. checked and its hardly blowing any air.. how long can i make it before i get a replacement. there 5 weeks into flower. thinking of getting a couple at wally world but buy the time i can get em and the lights come back on will be about 14 hrs.

i have one of those vivosuns you get off ebay, lasted about 3 months. pretty sure its the diaphram that went bad, can anyone point me in the right direction on how to repair it. i might get by doing it that.
this is like the one i have
wayhttps://www.ebay.com/itm/VIVOSUN-950-GPH-O2-Air-Pump-6-Outlets-for-Aquarium-Fish-Tank-Hydroponic-Pond-32W/172728694692?epid=3003028503&hash=item28376eb7a4:g:ibYAAOSwG~ta4FLR:rk:1:pf:0

I don't think that 14 hrs would be totally catastrophic.
You could draw some fresh water and oxygenate it and replace the bucket water just before lights out.

I have an "ActiveAqua" pump, it's been running for 5 years at least. I also have "Whisper" pumps from WallyWorld, one failure out of 5.

I would replace that one pump with 2 equivalent, so if one fails you still have plenty of O2 till you get another.

Good luck

i added a gallon of ph'd water to each bucket with a couple table spoons of peroxide. hope that does it.. do you think 2 of the 10 to 30 gallon wisper's would be enough for 4 5 gallon bubble buckets or should i step up to two 30 to 60 gallon wispers's there only 4 bucks more each?

no recirculation pump?this is just 4 buckets not linked together? If so they'll probably be wilting by the time u get back.Dim the light or even turn it off.
edit to add u may want to lower the water level so not all the roots are submerged,or they'll start to drown

One time entering the room during a lights off session isn't going to cause you problems ...go in and fix the pump or replace even during the dark cycle

I go by the thought that air is like light, it's kinda hard to have too much. IMO - a 30-60 is a bare minimum for 2 plants.
In Flower, I have a 70L/min pump airing 2 plants & 2 x 30-60 for another 1. The water looks like it's at a hard boil.

news pumps are hooked up. not many bubbles tho. i got the two 30-60 wispers, thats as big as i could get.. thinking maybe my air stones were getting cloged up. and thats why the other pump went bad.. plants do look ok tho.. ill know more when the lights come back on

Till you get the air-stones cleaned/replaced, cut a small flap (not a slit) in the air hoses near the stones.

70 l per minute?2 plants?
That pump will run a 4000 gallon fish pond at 6'deep.

Keep an eye on the new stones in case they start to get clogged again.

Yup:mrgreen:
I started with a 30 - 60 Whisper for 2 plants. Then after reading about O2 in water, I switched that to 1 plant & had a noticeable improvement. I just kept upping the air to where I'm at now.

I have the same pump, runs veg and flower.Approx 12 stones running at any given time.
Your not worried about back pressure? That will kill the pump prematurely.

Mine came with a manifold with 8 lines, using all 8 lines, so I'm not worried about back pressure, been running it pretty much non-stop for 5 years anyway.
Looks just like this
