lol just about everything I grow is bag seed. I would go at least 3 weeks with that set up. replant after 3 sets of leafs os you'll see four. You don't even have to replant but it gets hard to water in a solo cup. there are lots of ways to do what ever you want. Took me a few grows to get set up the way I wanted and I still learn new shit daily. I got a qp out of my first messed up grow.

Yeah you really do just have to read a lot. Go to CFL section and read up if you are going to use CFL's.. Although I used small wattage HPS for first grow and it has worked out great :).. I won't ever flower until they are mature enough but some force flowering upon plant in certain circumstances.

my dude u need help just ask and ill help u like the basics alright i remember when i first started ya dig!! if u want to u can start with 24/7 20/4 18/6 either one is good!!! go to youtube aand watch mr green i grow chronic he'll help u out alittle bit about lighting and shyt like that!!

veg is the vegetation period. green growth, leaves and the stem and shit. flowering comes later. flowering happened when u change ur lighting schedule. when u change ur lighting to 12 hours on and 12 hours of darkness. the plant then begins to flower. flowering is producing the buds. the good shit.

as for lighting in veg and flowering ur plant has different types of light it likes. different bulbs emit different light, based on the temperature they burn. its measured in kelvins. a k. most light bulbs are like 2700k. this is cool white or w.e. plants like that in the flowering period, its kinda like a red looking light. in veg plants like 6500k. these can be a little harder to find, gotta look at the packages, go to wallmart best prices. these lights look blue when u turn them on. u can mix it up a lil bit too.

Color Temperature (CT) - Color temperature, which is measured in Kelvin, indicates whether a lamp has a warm, midrange or cool color appearance. "Warm" light sources have a low color temperature (2000-3000K) and feature more light in the red/orange/yellow range. Light with a higher color temperature (>5000K) features more blue light and is referred to as "cool."

on the package of the lights its gonna give u two numbers. one for actual wattage and one for equivalent. your only concerned with the actual wattage. u want to get atleast 100 watts going. more the better. you can double the amount of lights per lamp fixture by using screw in y sockets. look that shit up. lets u put two bulbs where there was only room for one. also google polarized socket adaptor. they have em at wallmart for like 1.00. saves money. u dont have to buy any light fixtures. just get a power strip and plug your lightbulbs right in. makes life easy. dont worry about nutes for awhile. if ur gonna use a cheap soil use miracle grow organic mix, not the best but its not too strong for your plants like regular miracle grow. and look up the paper towl germination method. its easy and it works.

I'm fairly new to the game myself, so I know how it is. I received the newest copy of High Times Grow Guide recently and it had several excellent write-ups on "from seed to weed". It starts at the germination process (choosing the right seeds, soaking the seeks in distilled water for 24-30 hours), through the first days the new plant sees light all the way through harvest. I have spent a lot of time in my local Hydro store - they don't seem to mind talking to me now that I've dropped a bunch of cash...makes sense. I've read the most common cause for marijuana plant death is over watering. Me being as paranoid as I am about over-watering, I bought a bag of medium (soilless) called Botanicare Aeration Formula. It has Coco, Perlite and other stuff in it. It has basically NO nutrients (NPK) - I think it's like .001/.001/.001. This medium DOES require watering a little more often but the folks who make it claim "it's virtually impossible to overwater your plant with this formula". Yeah that's a bold claim - I can't imagine anyhow would sit out in the backyard with the garden hose running into the plant for a few hours or something. I am not suggesting you get this particular product, although me being fairly new at this, I wanted to play it safe. I do water until I get about 10% run-off - and then test the pH from that. These guys are right - there is a LOT to this. pH, TDS (total dissolved solids), mixing nutrients (nutes), etc... This is not something you can plant and go camping for a weekend - it requires a lot of time and care.

As for nutes - I am using Botanicare Pro Grow & Pro Bloom (I'm not in the flowering stages yet so I'm not using the Bloom). Also, Botanicare makes something called Liquid Karma - which is a suppliment that has things your plant needs! I've been mixing Pro Grow (15ml) and Liquid Karma (10ml) per 4L (per 1 gallon).... I've read it's important to get on a strict watering/feeding plan. If I were to water today (no nutes), I'd watch a full day with NOTHING, and then on the 3rd day, I'd water/nutes them. Naturally this is the NON scientific way of doing things as I don't have my EC meter yet (Friday!!)....but I haven't had any yellowing leaves and the plants are going CRAZY - so being a little conservative seems better than giving them too much.

I am just using small pots right now that will give them a lot of growing room. Many seasoned growers say to only transplant once. So if you start off in a Solo cup, once it gets a good week, week and a half into being happy about being alive, then you can transplant it to it's permanent home. So people transplant to a little bit bigger pot...then a little bigger....they say that's a no, no. Transplating causes shock to the plant. I've been using a product for transplants which I give to it once the transplant is over - it's supposed to really help the root system of the transplant. I haven't lost one in a transplant yet! :-)

wow thanks guys alot, alright this is what I bought... I got 3 40w 5000k cfl light bulbs and I got 3 outlet light sockets and 3 little extention cords and one fan. I put all of this inside of a tubaware box, I turned it all on and put the lid on and I came back and it was burning up in there so I have the fan going without the lid on so it will cool down, I think I should drill holes on each side and have 2 fans, one intake and one exhaust

If you don't veg it for at least a month you might as well not even bother. If everything goes well that 16oz party cup will be full of roots in about 2 weeks you can transplant then I would go up to a 1gallon pot or 3 even but generally 1 gallon of soil is good for about 1ft of growth so keep tha in mind. The longer you keep it veggin the more bud your going to harvest but that's up to you how long you wait man.
