I guess I'm not really a newbie since I created my account 2 years ago.. I started a grow journal and promptly forgot about it! That grow went hella hermaphrodite on me, I think I pulled an ounce of some okay bud and maybe 3 ounces of seeds.

Anyway back to present, I'm running a shoddy closet setup right now. Still, it's the best room I've had so far judging by the plants. They're ugly af compared to some of the beauties I've seen on this site, but they're the best looking buds I've grown. I had 9 bagseed saved up that I'd collected from some primo, and decided to get things going again. Dug out all my equipment and got her going. Of course I dug out my stuff 2 weeks after I germinated so they were 6 inches tall by the time they got under the metal halide, but whatever right lol. All 9 popped, one died after the first transplant, one fell over. Vegged like 3-4 weeks with some fim attempts (failed) and a top each (after I figured the fims failed)

Crap I said present, that was still past.
Sorry, I'm pretty faded rn.

Presently, of the 3 remaining ladies, 2 are going to be done within a week or two. I cut a runty branch out as a sampler 4 days ago and hung it up. I sampled a bud tonight, and as you can tell from my rambling, it's pretty decent, even still wet.

Sorry for the long post, hope to learn from the community here, thanks for reading if you made it this far

Good to hear. I say just do the best you can with your setup now. You can always improve your room as you go. That's what I've been doing, and my closet gets a little better each time. Keep it up.

So a thing happened.

The sativa decided to throw dozens of nanners out overnight, and I chopped her in a panic. My other 2 are 'lightly seeded' due to an earlier mishap, but after the sample I took turned out so well, I wasn't tryna make it any worse.

I know she had at least a month left, so I'm afraid the smoke isn't going to be very good. She was on full strength nutes still, just barely developing trichomes in the last week.

I was honestly going to trash her whole but my wife is of the 'if it burns I'll smoke it' sort so we trimmed her up and she's hanging in a box on top of my fridge. Weight estimate of maybe an ounce of some low quality shwag. I'm gonna dry her out as slow as my wife let's me xD

Will provide smoke report if anyone is interested lol

Same thing just happened to me the other day. My Sunset Sherbet started showing nanners on Wed, so I chopped her and she's been hanging since. She was no where near ready but the sample I tried was still decent, just not as strong as it should be. It will definitely be a clear headed high though I would expect. My wife will probably like it though because she seems to like the earlier picked ones, and if it isn't that great it can be a learning experience for me. I now will be more careful about supercropping in flower. I guess I stressed her out a bit. No worries though, her clone is vegging for next round.

I think I'm going to start running autos until I can get an actual exhaust system worked out. Light leaks are always my down fall :(

One thing that will help you step up your game is good genetics. That will stop your hermie issues. Bagseed is there because of a hermie and thus is likely to hermie.

Hello ?
Welcome back :D

I know, I was just hopeful. 2 out of 3 isn't bad though, right? I'm planning on getting good auto seeds for the challenge coming up. Gonna clean and redesign my closet after these ones are done. I might actually run ducting this time!

Ok, i was wondering. I've never looked much into them, but that makes sense. I heard autos are less potent, so I lost interest when I heard that.
Back in the day autos were noticeably less potent, at least imo. With the new pro-green wave and all the new breeders they're getting better. I'll take 20% thc in 60 days over 30% in 90+ (and that's assuming you're skilled enough to hit that number lmao)

Oh, nice to hear. I think they would be easier to grow where I'm at outdoors since our seasons are so crazy. I think I have a couple auto freebies last time I ordered seeds so I may have to try em outside and give em a try. 20% is nothing to complain about.

Go for it. No real reason not to try right? I like the idea of autos because I can run a perpetual grow without needing a veg/flower room. Pop a seed, wait a month, pop another, wash rinse repeat :D

Ya I've been doing a perpetual garden too, but set up a small tent for vegging, so I can just keep cloning em. But I hear you, it would be easier not to have to deal with 2 rooms at the same time like I am now.

I've only dreamt of having space for TWO growing areas xD

Side note, the wife put a few buds from the unfortunate sativa I chopped in the oven on 120 for awhile to quick-dry some and it's not terrible! I've paid for worse smoke than this honestly. Not too harsh, tastes pretty bad but that's expected with how she did it lol. My hopes have risen significantly for the remainder of the hanging branches!

I don't have a lot of space either. Everything is in my bedroom. I just emptied my closet which is now my main flower room, and got a 2x4x5 foot tent for veg that's in my bedroom too. I also am lucky, cause I have a second smaller closet in there that I use for drying. Glad to hear about the taste test, and ya they will taste way better dried slower.

My plants fell over! Well, they would have if I hadn't anticipated it the other day and strung them up :D

I used half inch nylon rope, looped into a circle around the whole plant, then either side of the circle has rope secured to the bar my light is hanging from.

I have some beans coming in the mail, I might just decide to chop them down a little bit early in order to get started on some good genetics :D
