Hello everyone. I live in Ny, where they just legalized it. I bought 5 feminized white widow seeds and now i have 3 sprouts that are about 3 weeks old now. I was going to grow them outside so they're in pots using soil i composted, but then i got nervous about the plant getting over watered, or a big storm coming through so i bought a 3x2 tent with 300w led and a fan. I have a heater and a mister for heat and humidity. So far temp is staying at 75 F and humidity at 45%. 17-5 light cycle because my timer is retarded but that shouldn't matter, should it? Today was the first day I watered them using general hydroponics full spread, including armor si, nectar, wetting agent, calmag, and the 3 part fertilizer.

Any tips would he appreciated, im a total noob and this stuff is pretty extensive. Not looking for the biggest yield possible, just a successful harvest.

Also, do the thinner leaves on that one plant indicate its sativa dominant? That would make me happy.

Welcome to RIU mate, happy growing, if you want advice please put the make of your light, next grow get some better medium maybe, IDK, you need to tell us the details of the compost, good luck and again welcome.

Honestly i couldn't tell you a brand, the tent, fan and light were a kit. Its a 300w full spectrum led is all i know.

The compost is just my compost over a few years, nothing in particular. Mostly food waste; vegetable clippings, apple cores, banana peels that sort of thing. Would sometimes dump small pots of potting soil in there. Also mixed up with miracle grow organic natures care potting soil, mostly for sprouting them.

I did get a hydroponic system. Just a very basic one where the roots grow in water, came with air stone and pump and roxul and all that, I'm waiting on more seeds that are arriving today. I might have to wait on that though unless i want to get another light. But next time if nothing else.

they look good, keep them in a tent at least until the end of May. Don't see any sativa leaners in the pics, but sometimes plants switch things up around flowering, including the shape of leaves. Also, 17 on 5 off gives you 22 hours :mrgreen: I doubt they need to be fed just yet, I'd use water only and transplant into bigger containers within a weeks time. Then, you can get them acclimated and plant outdoors

I appreciate the reply. So you think i should use just water for a couple more weeks, interesting, is that because the soil should be good enough on it's own until depleted?

Be a week maybe two and harden it off outside. N.E. summers work well for autos. Running a ww as well. 4/20 start. Best wishes

I would get the temperature up over 82f. Cannabis grown under led is happier in warmer temperatures due to the lack or sufficient IR radiation. And bump your humidity up to at least 65%.
Also, you don't need to feed them anything yet.

Thanks so much for reply. I'll bump up the temp a bit. That humidity is easier for me too because my basement holds a bit of humidity and im just using a cold mister right now. I often go down to find the humidity has risen to to 55-60%.

Edit: the feeding too I'll hold off for now. I gave it to them that once

Nice mines not autoflower unfortunately. I probably should have done that as it's my first time, but we'll see! Lol I'm planning on keeping one inside that tent and putting the other two. Or other 1 maybe i kind of burned one with the heater a little but stupid n00b mistake.

I like warm mist humidifiers better than cool mist. The cool mist can leave a mineral residue everywhere and on everything. The warm mist keeps those minerals sequestered in the tank. What ever works for you though, is good.

It is just a learning curve. Learn the basics and almost anything is possible. Photo guy here. Autos I do just to dispute the complaints I read. LOL.

Don't worry about a little damage from the heater
Don't grow auto's your first or second time through. There's a much better margin for errors with photo periods. If you make a mistake with an auto, that mistake will directly effect the yield.
