Hello old and new friends of the rollitup community, if your new my name is Mantle, and i make oil.
i finally invested in a 2lb closed loop extraction/dewaxing, and have a few inqueries.

Recently i began vending my QWET and ROSIN to dispensaries in the SF bay area as my primary job.

my top shelf material is used in the ROSIN/QWET, i invested in a closed loop for the sugar trim, i have been told to use 1lb of N-butane per 3 ounces of material, is this accurate or does anyone have another ratio i should try, what length of time should one dewax(single solvent) for.

shout outs to the fellow veterans of Rollitup: (TexasTHC, Bublonichronic, oilmkr420, qwizo, Twitch, WarMachine, blunter the kid and fadedawg) for making my career possible.

We estimate three volumes and watch the color for precision. Since the column is already occupied by material, which can and does soak up LPG, I use 3 Volumes X .80 = LPG use.

I note you have a top flood unit, but we flood the first two volumes from the bottom and the last from the top as a rinse. Here is an Agent Orange cotton candy extraction using those parameters.

Ideally for a more efficient dewaxing an in line dewaxing chamber and poisterior filtration would be used. However provided material is cold as and you let the dry ice bath take its toll and butane as cold as you can have it i wouldnt soak it for longer than 10/15 min for trim depending how broke up it is. I have added a pressure gauge on the top of my system so i know when the gas has filled the material column and close valves.
As for the amount of solvent i think @Fadedawg is pretty spot on, though i dont use bottom fill, i flood 2 from top then rinse into an inline dewaxing chamber where it sits for about 90 to 120 min with dry ice bath then gets filtered through a 2 micron polyester sock.
Unfortunately ive been working with almost refusable trim lately but it really gets the undesirables out of the end product.IMG_20171024_004239.jpg
