hell yes!!! lets grow some mary jane! sugestions welcome :)

so last night i was bored at around 2am. i cleaned most my girls closet (you can see where this is going) and her room. we were talking and shes totally down to let me grow in her closet. i already have the light.

1 2ft t5
3 warm cfl 24 watt
3 cool cfl 24 watt
1 warm cfl 42 watt

i have some bat guano, fox farm nutes, fem ppp seeds from nirvana, a bag of perlite i believe, and of course the pots.

i plan on buying at least another bag of perlite ~$3 and a big bag of just reular black dirt and adding nutes, and sand as i need too.

now heres the proboblem...

we both go to school in chicago. we come back every weekend. mostly to hang out with friends and get drunk. but i was wondering about the watering schedule. i was thinking about leaving an upside down 2 litter in the dirt to slowly add water. my main concern is the seedling part when they always need to be misted and stuff. any suggestions?

i plan to germ wednesday so they will be ready by saturdy.

please respond i know there bunch of people in this forum its easy for a thread to get lost in the crowd.

oh and ill only be doing maybe 2 plants tops!

You might have enough light for veg, probably not flower. It also seems to be mostly warm and you want cool for veg.

ive used that exact set up before with pretty good results im not worried about the lights. i had 8 plants under those light before. my main concern was the watering issue since id be gone monday thru thursday.

you think if i soak the soil sundy night that would last a few days then a light watering friday. then a huge soak sunday... etc etc...

and of coarse id add lights as i see fit. but the majority of the cool worked great last time. but when it gets closer to flowering i think i might as well just buy the war cfls. its only a couple bucks...

so anyone got any watering ideas?

i heard about that 2 litter idea from another thread a while back. and since i'd only be gone for a few days a week think the soak idea would work better?

Have water gel can be put in you mix to help out. They claim crystals will significantly improve water holding capacity of soil...by as much as 400%!!!

oh yeah i completely forgot about those things? they sell em at hydro stores?

They should have it. If not ask them if they could order some for you. My local grow shop is the best.

These are those crstals and even sold for growing. The only other ay would be to either set up a small irrigation pump... (Risky) or go hydro...

no. They will die in flowering. My plants are in week 4 and they drink every 2-4 days depending. Even if I give them a FAT watering still 2-4 days they need more. For veg you MIGHT be ok watering once a week... but still... I duno... and hanging an upside down whatever wont work lol.

So...yea you def cannot do this in flowering. It wont happen.

i put 3 seeds in the soil today i germed them wednesday. everything is all set up. im pretty damn excited. its been like a year already since my first grow.

weeeeeee!!!! all three popped their little heads out of the soil today! happy birthday ladies!

now the first test. ill be gone til friday. my fingers are crossed. ill just saturate the soil. mist em and put a plastic baggie over em to keep the moisture in.

Please dont cover your young plants with a plastic baggie for a week while you are gone. If you must leave I would suggest covering the soil only, not the entire plant. And as for watering, get a small water pump and a digital timer. Set the timer for a few minutes every couple days. Also, you will have lots of run-off, so its important to contain the run-off in the same resevoir as the supply water.

thanks for the advise. ill go look up prices online now and maybe head to the dro shop before i leave.

im on htg supply. im looking at water pumps but im not familiar with them at all.... what accessories would i need in total?

I find this very hard to believe.... 8 plant at once or 8 grows one at a time? the latter is more believable but there is no way you grew 8 plants at once under the same amount of light.

its true. granted 3 were only mature and the other 5 were clones or young seedlings. and i also had to get rid of them before the other 5 could mature. so yeah technically 8 plants

you should be alright leaving your seedlings for a few days while in veg. my plant drink about once every 5 days in veg, be it under cfls or 2000 watts hps. you shouldn't need any kind of drip system until your plants start taking off in 12/12
