Helios 12 hook up to dryer cord, need help please.

I bought a Helios 12 and have a 4 prong dryer recepticle very close. When I opened the box there was only a diagram for 3 wire setup. I am pretty new to wiring to know what to do so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

Connect the green wire to the ground lug inside the controller as shown in the diagram. Connect the red wire to the relay terminal as shown in the diagram. Connect the black wire to the relay terminal as shown in the diagram. You will not be using the white wire because 240 volts does not use a neutral wire. Snip the end of the white wire off so that no bare wire is exposed, fold back and tape the folded wire with electrical tape to prevent accidental contact with anything in the controller.

Could you answer this same question with the helios 11 and using a 3 prong dryer cord. Dryer cords do not come color coded, so I don't know which wire would go to the ground or even if you can hook up a three prong dryer cord to it. I have used a four prong but now live in a home with a three prong. Thanks for any help.

To the above question I believe if its not color coded then you may run into some issues unless you follow the line out of the breaker box. So you know for a fact you are about to hook in the 2 hot wires.
To me it seems easier to upgrade that line rather then to maybe get it right! Wait to see if someone else has any good advice, but that's my understanding.

The middle wire in a 3 prong dryer cord is the ground. Unlike the round shape cord, the 3 wire cord is shaped flat.
