How much are you growing? I really doubt they're looking at you even if they are looking for growers. Unless you have a huge setup with dozens of plants and 5000W+ worth of lights, I wouldn't worry about it.

And heat searchers or whatever were determined to be an invasion of privacy. So unless they have a warrant, they can't use heat searchers to determine anything. It won't hold up in court if it gets to that. You're fine man.

Is that all states? Helicopters scare the shit out of me. I'm paranoid anyway especially when I am stoned!! I live in a area where Martin is building the pres.1 helecopters or they were. We have the damn things flying by all the time and I live a few miles from our airport. I own a double wide and worry about my heat signature. It is a new place with good insulation and all but the two things I worry about are the heat and smell.

How can you be sure the law is different in every state and they come up with something new everyday. We are in the majority but are treated like the minority! I grow 6 to 7 plants and am still paranoid when they are growing! Till it is legal or decriminalized I won't feel safe. Better safe than sorry. And can someone point me in the direction to see if this is illegal I mean the IR. I keep hearing it but have not seen evidence to the fact.

nope just a closet full of 4 :) guess we were getting alittle paranoid maybe it was the weed:joint: :hump:
It is the weed, believe me.
A week or so ago there was a helicopter hovering very nearby, no idea what that was, then this morning, the power company guy was taking our very normal bi-monthly reading while a cop car was parked in front of him handing out a ticket. :peace: :joint::shock: :hump:

I have to keep convincing myself not to worry about a 400 watt bulb with exhaust hooked up to the air exchanger's exhaust ...

I guess that fades away after a few grows, unless the yields gets better and better. :bigjoint:

Worse is keeping visitors and landlord out of that closet.

ye, my main concern is indeed not the goverment or powercompanies...its the ppl you know, relatives or one night stands that might accidently see some strange indoor gardening equipment scrapping around or opening the forbiddent door or whatever...thats the most anoying part of growing at home...it feels like u need to dump your entire life and move to nowhere and surround yourself with equaly minded stoner friends only to be totally relaxed.

that's y everyone needs a place w/ a basement! basements are always the "dank, dirty laundry=smelly place that everyone knows is generally like that so they don't think its strange when u'd 'rather not go down there w/ company." due to appearance/smell/watevr reason u want to give to keep ppl from wanting to go down there.
now back to the choppers. i had this on my mind just today so its kinda coincidental that i stumble upon a thread about it this evening. i've read that there's a certain 'expected right to privacy' and that they aren't allowed to fly below a certain height because of this. what does anyone know about this? (also about curtilages) would this knowledge be helpful in court if necassary?here helicopters come once a month starting in june and fly till sept. they fly a week at a time around the whole county, focusing on different regions of the county each day. so i need as much info as possible about them before this grow season starts. i'm scribing to this thread and intend to keep it alive for this purpose. fuckin helicopters worried the shit out of me all summer last year, so i'm hoping this year, knowing more about their flight patterns, and gaining knowledge about my rights and the laws governing the heli's, i'll be able to relax when i hear those fuckin blades whoop whoop whoopin the air!!!:peace:

if u have just a medium sized personal grow-op in a concrete basement somewhat below ground i guess the heat signature is kind of lost. i guess the problem starts showing for real if u are using more then 1000w in a badly isolated attic and specialy if u have a exhaust outlet going out of the side of your house, that will show as a "falmethrower" on the camera :P I'm glad i live in a small town in sweden, i only see police choppers when there is some political meeting or searching for missing ppl...allmost never happens :P

They have to obtain a search warrent to use IR on your house. This has been brought up ALOT. And I've done EXTENSIVE research on this subject for well over 4 years. They mainly look for venting for your lights. Hope this helps.

no, they don't use fast rope decent into your house like the US marines or some shit.

determining some place is a grow includes looking at their trash, looking at their habits, studying the home, looking at the FLIR, looking at how much electricity a house uses. all of these things are used in conjunction. the mst common reason to get busted is if someone narcs on you.

so be careful when unloading 1000 watt HPS lights, soil, buckets; be cool with all the neighbors, i'd even get a small dog, like a terrier (not a pitbull), that looks playful and innocent, don't show up with some loud ass music once a day and then leave (not cool at all), don't have a bunch of different cars coming over all the time, pay all your bills on time, etc, etc etc.......
