Heater in grow room good or bad?

Since it is getting colder at night I put a heater in the grow room during the dark cycle and turn off the regular fan until the light cycle comes on. Will this help the plant grow faster?

You can do that but I would definitely keep the fans going still as well. Better for air circulation and spreading the heat out evenly. Just make sure your room is staying in the range of 65-75 degrees Fahrenheit. Too hot and you'll cook the plants, too cold and you'll freeze them!

Keeping temp in optimal range will help them grow faster. So if it's getting below the 64* F during night hours then I would consider adding a source of heat. However, if temps can get above 72 with lights on then I would let it get a little cooler to help keep the heat down when lights are on.

Enviroment is one of the most critical things in a grow. You can have the best nutrients, best lights and horrible results due to poor grow conditions.

I'm using a Jhonson temp controller and a brew mat for heating at night. The issue is having the inline fan running at one speed "small grow tent". I do have the inline on a adjustable but I would like to have it adjust up and down according to the heat/cold .
