this week we have a heat wave beginning today. All days over 100 degrees F. Many days at 108 or 109....

From 7am till about 1pm it is reasonable outside. Can I bring my plants into my garage each day. The garage stays cooler by a good 20 degrees. If they get 6 hours of straight sun each day would it be better to keep them in the shade or bring them in?

I have no indoor lighting setup.

Thanks

Is the 108 degree temps the actual temp or the heat index figure? Also what are the humidity levels going to be roughly.

Update: they seem no worse for wear after day 1 of over 100 degree weather. Yesterday was a high of 103.20200814_074038.jpg20200814_074105.jpg20200814_074109.jpg20200814_074117.jpg

Today is supposed to be 110f. Will be back here all week with a progress report on this heat wave.

Now here's Chris with Sports........

Yes, it will be fine. It’s the dark period that fucks with their cycle.

last night I noticed some white flies so I waited until dark and cooler temps and sprayed neem oil.

This morning I saw a couple of yellow leaves at the bottom of all plants. Could this be from the neem? From the heat or a coincidental nitrogen deficit?

Silica and plenty of water have been the saving graces

They are full out door plants for sure. No IR therm.

All I have been really doing is keeping a hawks eye on them and at the 1st sign of slight leaf claw they get brought into the garage.

An hour or so later they are fine. Once it cools lower than 100 they go back outside.

So far so good.
