heat/reflection question

Hello All. First post/grow. I've done a great deal of reading but I haven't found answers to a couple questions.

I'm starting a cfl home grow in soil with Super Skunk seed bought online. I believe I have enough lights (one 68 watt soft white and 4 26 watt 6500K) for vegging. I plan to go with 3 68 watt soft whites and 2 26 watt 6500K for flowering 2 plants in a 18 cubic foot wardrobe.

Two questions: will those cfls' produce enough heat to be troublesome?

I know mylar, panda tape and flat white paint are best, but is foil better than nothing--or should I just leave the cabinet as is?

Yes, CFL's put out a lot more heat than most people think. they are supposed to be "florescent" but just hold one in your hand; it's not like touching a normal T8 or T12 florescent tube. I'm not sure what the "soft whites" are but if it's just a regular incandescent bulb you're wasting your time.

normally cfls dont produce that much heat to be concerned about BUT in that tiny of a space that you have, I would say that heat is a major concern.. what is the environment ambient temp usually? if that space is completely enclosed, I suggest inserting an inflow air blower (to bring air in) and an outflow blower to pull air out .. maybe just a 95CFM blower for each.. that way there is a constant air flow through the grow space and you wont have any heat problems whatsoever..
definitely get something to reflect those lumens.. mylar is the best and it would be cheap (not much needed for how small a space u have).. plus the absorbtion rate for the container is lower when light is bounced around so much so that only the plant is absorbing the light and the container is not heating up from absorbing the light energy - keeps temps down...
good luck!

thanks for the feedback. No, the soft whites are not incandescent. They are 68 watt 2700k cfls rated at about 4200 lumens. I priced mylar at a local shop and it would cost 50 bucks to do my little cabinet. Is this too much? Is there someplace else that might have mylar besides a hydro shop? I checked the big hardware stores to no avail.

also, I don't know if I should start another thread, but my other question has to do with odor.

Are there any strains of ganja that don't smell like ganja? Carmelicious? Bubble Gum??

Flat white paint is like $5 for a small can, might take a couple cans and a $2 brush. Easy, cheap.

only use 6500Kbulbs for veg and 2700K for flower. the white flat paint works good. aluminum foul can direct light onto small spots and burn your plant. sorry for the spelling i suck at it.

I just picked up a 25' roll of thick mylar at the local grow shop for $14....not sure how you would have spent $50.
Check online. I'll bet you find other less expensive options.
