jman is right.

it can be quite expensive. what size box are you planning on building? I am on a low budget grow too, but building the room is the cheap part(well kinda). 2x4 are like 2.50 4.00 bucks each then you have the plywood. lights, nute, soil, pots, ppm testers ph tester. I just got nutes that are ballanced. here is my box and the beginning of my room.010.jpg

I will be putting another room in front of this for my veg room, this will be my flower room.
I have not gotten to my first harvest yet but I still don't have a smell problem at all. and I am only flowering one plant right now. I have heard that the smell is worse in the last few weeks of flower. we'll see

the bulb is 25w MH.as soon as i'm finished my room & get heat under control ,i'm gonna transplant to bigger pot & replace MH with 100w HPS.building the room is no problem(it'll finish out to 4'x4'x7'),it's the extra lights & whatnot that'll beat up my wallet.the phototron has 6 55w biax bulbs.they say they throw 3x the light of traditional u-bent(4800 lumens).i haven't done the math, but i'm guessing they wouldnt be enough for the larger space when i convert it from a hiding place to a grow room.it's an old house(1928) ,so im gonna have to run new electric line.most of the outlets don't allow for the ground post.i have all the materials for the room and electric line on hand.more lights,fans,a/c,etc. is an unanticipated exspense.i always finish what i start no matter how foolish it may be,so i'm gonna get this done if it takes me broke or not.damn the torpedoes;-)

Home made co2 wont help for your heat problems.. If you had co2 in the room ( via co2 tank or generator ) you would be okay up into the 90's but 95 is pretty hot for indoors, you dont want the roots to get that hot. I would suggest getting a portable AC fast, also vent the heat from your lights.

it's 85 right now with two of the panels off.i'm definately gonna have to come up with something.the MH isn't really giving off any heat.the other lights are though.the HPS will probably throw off some heat too.i think they'll be alright the rest of the week.they germinated about 11 days ago.i'm gonna switch lights from 24 to 18/6 probably tomorrow.that should help some

I pull the hose out of the box. if you look at the pic there is a hole next to the power cord that my power runs through. in dark hours I cover the holes with a blanket. this is just temp till my real rooms are done being built. but yes stop the co2 at night. I don't know why thats just wha I was told. I think it chokes the plant but not sure. if you have a room just pull it out of there before your dark time.
Plants only use co2 during " lights on" they wont use it all during lights off.. I also wouldnt even use it in veg, you can but I have been growing with co2 for a while and it just didnt do enough for me in veg to keep using it. And I wouldn't recommend co2 unless you have a sealed environment or sealed grow room. Are you growing hydro? or Soil.. If hydro even 85 is too high.

I only use it in lights on. and only in flower. I am new to growing so i just try what I hear on here. My room is not sealed during lights on I have to leave the door open a couple. I don't expect it to do much but I seams that it is working. i don't know if would look the same if the co2 was not there. I use soil. the crystal production seems rather high for trhee weeks. or is this
normal for the time in flower. 021.jpg

It would look the same without using co2 in your set up.. Stop wasting your money on co2 if you are leaving your door open you are just wasting that co2.. If you are in soil 85 degrees might be as long as your root ball doesnt get too hot. Keep a hygrometer at canopy level and pot level. But yeah that co2 is going to waste how many times are you re-filling your co2 tank?

it's homeade. i don't care about wasting it. the first thread from me on here is a recipe that I use. he wanted to know how to cool off his gismo, i dont know if co2 will or will not cool his room. but I figured if it would i would tell him how it's made, without costing him tons on tanks.

yeah that homemade co2 is probably not gonna help combat the high temps.. The more you increase your PPM of co2 the hotter the temps can be I hit the mid 80's and I pump 1500 PPM's..

if I wanted a cheap small stealt grow .. I would just build a small box with some diy outtake with carbon (as I postet) and runn some T5HO/CLF in ther with some autos ..

if I ever schould scale down that is my plan (have the 6 tube T5HO)

no heat to combat with .. can do with good air flow/excance and small carbon filters schould be ok then .. not much noise .. not much eletricity used .. only thing that will be a bit costly is the auto seeds ..

but with evrything els cheap its ok ..
they will provide good smoke .. 3-4 under my 6 tubex5 foot lights and then hope for 3-6 OZ evry seccon month ..

less time for them to get hugh and smell .. make a lot of humidity in your old basement and get nutriens/pest/soil problems ..

actualy maybe after a few grows .. scale it up to provide the most .. with some DWG/hydro in the box ..

then you can also skip all the mess with soil aso. .. just make some kind of smart tap so its easy to changes the water evry week ..

just need a cheap fish air pump and air stone ...

dunno just sumthing I have been playing with .. would be a easy small scale stealt grow that still could give enough to cover your own needs ..

I bet I could get like 90% of the stuff I need at my local "wallmart" ..

fans .. ventilation ... carbon filters for cookers ... timer .. T5 tubes (can upgrade them later when you have more money if it is`t HO or if it is T8 .. can still work very well if you get the right colur/Kelvin (2700K/6500K)

can also get most building materials (think creativ .. I got half my stuff from work .. and had the other 25% .. fans and stuff .. just had to get the seeds pots soild aso ..)

and Np. about the link .. have been very usefull to me .. nice and easy to look up commen questions/problems ..

i didn't think it would or my box would be sealed. I was going to make a exhast system but my room is close to done.

i'm using soil.i figured i'd grow a couple times before i tried anything fancy.my power went out for 4 hours today.how do you prepare for that?you cant always be home to turn on a generator,do just cross your fingers and hope for the best?

not a good set up
with a cfl the bulb has to be as close to the plant as you can
if that bulb was 2" above a plant you grow it in veg to 6" easy and healthy
did not read the comments but i have a daylight 20w cfl and its good for seedling / veg (one plant)

you're absolutely right ..
but the set up/rest is pretty cool and give a idea how a stelth grow could be made .. but yea I keep my 49W T5HO 2-4 inches away ..

im running 24 right now.i saw a couple posts said they run 24 entire veg.are there any benefits to that?if you are on 24 or 18/6 and you need to change the time the light/dark hours, like having the lights come on an hour or two earlier than your original plan for whatever reason, can it be done without ill effect or is it a no go?
