Heat issues, need a cheap way to DIY duct some heat out

I came across a thread about a week ago, that (if memory serves correctly) had appeared to be a 6-8inch fan, that looked like it was maybe duct taped to a dryer vent to run a cheap DIY exhaust. Does anyone know where I can find that thread? Or know a little more about doing something of that nature? I tried aiming a second fan at the hood, but I dont think its helping very much. I'd like a cheap simple way to bring my temp down just a few degrees. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hook that up to a dryer hose and have it act as the exhaust itself? the booster fans im seeing are only rated for about 500 cfm or so. Isn't that a little on the low end? or is that just how exhaust is?

Lets back it up and drop some more details for a more detailed feedback, alot of factors but yes simple solution mounted vertically/blow hole effect in the top of whatever you housing is.

Not sure what you mean by that last part, but I have a 600 watt hps/mh adjust-a-wing hood setup in a small bedroom, I'd like to bring it down just a few degrees

You could get a Styrofoam ice chest, cheap small fan, some 4" ducting, and a roll of duct tape. cut a hole in the lid for the fan to face down and then a hole in one of the sides for the ducting into your tent. put ice in the chest and turn the fan on. should bring it down a couple degrees.

This works great, search you tube for Swamp Cooler. Cheap and simple. If you don't want to deal with making sure you have enough ice all the time and/or dealing with draining the cooler after use, you can fill several jugs with water (those Hawaiian Punch gallon jugs work great, the juice isn't bad, and they have a carry handle) and freeze them to put into the cooler. Keep buying them until you have 6 of them, that way when you take 3 frozen ones out for the cooler you just have to put the 3 you take out of the cooler that are melted in the freezer. No fuss no mess. If you do this, leave enough room in the jug for the water to expand as it freezes, learned that one the hard way.
