sup guys, i currently have a 45watt cfl for flowering and i dont want to flower long seeing as how small my box is. the temps is around 30 degress celcius ( around 80). I was wondering if i replaced my 45watt cfl and put in a 150watt hps would the heat be the same, less or much greater? I have 1 pc fan to cool down the box but i can add another one no problem

thanks for any replies

my guess would be it'll get hotter. i tried the whole pc fan thing and i really wasn't impressed. how small is your box?

150w/45w = 3.33 times hotter. The HPS would put temps well into the upper 90's but you still need proper ventilation so might as well upgrade and deal with it.

your light will have to be no more than 18"-24" away from the plants with proper ventilation with this bulb! monitor the plants for leaf tip desication, and ajust hight accordingly

Get the light, you can make it work with more fans. It doesn't put out THAT much heat.

You also should mount the ballast outside the box. The $20 light will work if that's the one you are looking at.

It will be like 2x to 3x the heat but it will be soooo worth it because it's 20x the lumens of your single cfl.

Is this a PC grow? Might be overkill...
