Heat from LEDs

Hi everyone I just setup my first tent for my first time. I have 4 seedlings under this 1200 W KingLed and my temperatures are exceeding 80f even with my exhaust fan on. I am just curious if this is normal as everywhere I have read is that Cannabis likes anywhere from 70-80 w/ 80-85 being max temps they can stand and still grow optimally.

Tent: iPower 5x5x8

Light: KingLed 1200W Double Chips full spectrum

Exhaust: Vortex S-Line S600

I would like to also add that I don't leave the exhaust fan on all the time. Should the exhaust fan be running the entire time the light is on? Oh and the light is 24" away.

what is the ambient temperature of your house?

a couple observations:
you have a very large tent, 200 cubic feet
your fan is only rated for 350 cfm, correct? so at most it can change the air twice in a minute
your actual power draw from the light is 240w, so that shoudn't be putting much heat

1. yes leave your exhaust fan on 24/7
2. you can only hope to cool your tent to within a few degrees of the ambient temperature of where the tent is, or you'll need AC
3. that light won't be sufficient to flower in a 5x5
5. 80-85F is fine

I keep the ac on 74 so it is usually around 73-75. I plan on getting another when it gets close to time to flower, and am slowly acquiring all the parts for a diy cob setup.

right on. sounds like you'll be just fine!

if your house is 74 but your tent is 80+ just from that 240w light, check your ducting. make sure you don't have any sharp bends/rips or tears. try to keep the ducting as short and straight as possible to maximize the cfm of your fan. also. duct the hot air from your tent out a window if you can.

Where does the exhausted heat go when it leaves the fan?

Edit, never mind, yes leave the fan on 24/7.

Thanks everyone, when I get home I will post pictures of my setup.
Where does the exhausted heat go when it leaves the fan?
I have it hooked to a homemade piece of 2 x 8 that I cut a hole and screwed a 6" take-off w/ damper to that is sitting in the window The heat is exhausted back outside. Will update the thread with pics when I get home.

I've heard that temps should be higher with an LED setup. Could someone with more knowledge chime in? What is the reasoning behind this? I've seen some people run it in the mid 80's / 86*

This gets into his vs led, not which is better, but how they are different. Modern white light led don't put out IR Even if you supplement the amount of it needed to induce the desired reactions from the plants, the radiation outside ppf ranges pales to hps. The plants perceive this radiation in the form of heat.
Hps issues are going to be keeping it cool enough and possibly humid enough. Air conditioning can be required.
Led issues are going to be possibly needing heat and a dehumidifier due to the lack of dehumidification in the ac.
Having done both, I far prefer the ease of maintaining the environment with led. Active cooling required by hps has to counter the excess heat by the less effective bulbs. Hps is putting out way more energy over all so requires more energy to manage.

Hope that helps, I'm in no way an authority on every aspect of it, to many variables.

Well simple answer is i have grown with temps above 100 at canopy, well at that time, outside temps were around 110 to 115F. My bad, but only a little slow growth, and some fox tailing. But thats because i couldn't do anything about it.
Below 100 is a must. But just to reduce your worries, nothing bad will happen to your plants.
