Heads up, (immature) plant limits changed again:

While HB 2198, that was just signed into law, made headlines for establishing a CANNABIS COMMISSION (emphasis theirs) and dictating how the commission should be set up, it also effects us growers as it reintroduces a 12 plant (per card) immature plant limit and further defines immature plants as being less than 2 ft in HEIGHT (emphasis mine as that's the only guideline, they do not specify anywhere in the act bloom status or width, do with this as you will, I'm not to be held responsible if you run short seed runs that your lawyer unsuccessfully argues were immature ) It also allows licensed medical growers using the tracking system with more than 12 mature plants (e.g. not self growers) the ability to transfer 20# of processed marijuana into the recreational system (per year, per site)

thankfully it doesn't lower the possession limits so self growers are still allowed 36# if they're indoor growers and 72# if they're outdoor.

so, as a medical grower i can transfer up to 20 lbs to a rec dispensary per year?

I bet you could lay a big bag of dirt sideways and grow a plant that's 2 feet tall (under a screen) that would fill up a 4X4 tent.

i have a strain of autoflowers that get about 18 inches tall max.

Yes / No.

Are you growing *more* than 12 mature plants at your grow location? (in other words, are you growing for more than 2 patients and are you signed up / licenced with the tracking system?) If so, yes you may. If you're a solo grower or only grow for a total of 2 patients, no you may not.

As far as the auto flower 18" tall goes, or growing sideways, that's up to you. However the question really is, why on earth you'd bother with a short autoflower as they tend to yield very little compared to full size plants Also of course, they might tweak the rules to go back to saying any plant with flowers is a mature plant. I'd think the only use of the <24" tall plants would be to create seeds for most people, growing sideways however will give you an argument if the police come knocking and you're already growing 10 plants the traditional method mind you..

Small addendum, your grow location MIGHT have more than 12 plants if there are more than 2 single patient growers growing there as well, if that's the case then the grow site (which tracks its product) MIGHT be able to sell the 20# to the rec channel, check with your legal advisors, as I'm not a lawyer, I'm a pot farmer

Plus you have to decide whether to stay ommp or go OLCC. Either way they are tacking on an addition $480 tracking fee for all growers!!

It's like they are asking people to go black market. !!
