Try growing up in a different decade! I was born in 1986. Nintendo was released a few months before I was born. Adults with cell phones meant they were rich haha. It's crazy seeing the differences in childhoods. I loved being an 80's kid! I used to think Punky Brewster was cute. StarSearch was one of my all time favorite shows. Man those make me feel really old :(

I know its a bit of a shock for me, but for you it must be mind blowing... but then again, when i was little, even though I was fairly spoiled with getting what I wanted, at least, if i asked for it around xmas, i got it, any other time of the year it was like nope! anyway, when I was a kid, i always wore kmart clothes, didnt always get the newest things, and my mom and dad had these things which they said were for grown ups...
Like:
Cell phones
Personal Computers
Getting my nails done
shaving my legs
wearing any kind of makeup
dying my hair
certain types of clothes...
Etc.

But now I see girls who are like 11 years old, wearing hollister clothes, hair dyed, makeup done, nails done... walking around with an iphone! My dad would have slapped me across the room! They have everything for little kids, like educational toys, or highly animated toys.. I pulled out my toys the other day from when i was truly a little kid (1998-2004). Guess what I had? Dolls. Books. A doll house. A pink barbie corvette im sure cost a pretty penny so my barbies rode around in style. I had a bike, a scooter, and a gameboy color. Those were my staple toys... little kids now have so much to choose from!

Yeah these little fucks seem to get everything now-a-days. Even little kids from poorer families have cell phones and shit. It's fucking crazy. I was lucky enough to get a sony discman when I was little. I was lucky to get a computer at a very young age, but that's only because my dad was given one that didn't work and if I could fix it, I could keep it. It took me forever to learn how to fix it and get parts (remember how hard it was to get shit done without the internet?) but I did it. That's the reason I was obsessed with computers and the reason my career has everything to do with computers. All that late night tinkering and fucking around with shit that I used to get in trouble for as a kid is how I provide for my family. I still tease my parents because they used to tell me all the time "You'll never get anywhere in life staying up all hours of the night fucking with those things". Sometimes I think they still can't believe I got my first 40k/yr job before I was 20 as a college drop out LAWL.
