Funny....I grew up in the 70's and I never heard the word Haze....except in reference to Purple Haze...and that was a whole other deal!
The names of weed back then were always in reference to where it came from..."Oaxacan", "Acapulco Gold", "Columbian", "Panama Red", "Hawaiian", "Thai", etc.
I do remember when I started looking at High Times magazine, there were photographs of weed and they had the accompanying names..."White Widow" was one that goes back..."Maui Wowie"....Then we also had general term names like "Skunk" or "Blueberry" that referenced more of the strong smell/flavor and not the region. For example, I knew "Skunk" and "Blueberry" (or "Blueberry Skunk") came from Mexico because almost all the weed back then in my region, came from Mexico. But not all batches of Mexican were Skunk or Blueberry....Most, in fact, were ditchweed.
But I don't ever remember calling any weed "Haze" or hearing that term until I got my medical marijuana card back in 2010. THAT'S when everything took on a special name and had a special effect...lol. I digress.
