Aloha All,
How's it going everybody? Thought I would share my current medical grow with all of you. Please share thoughts and suggestions. Here are some stats:

4x 5g paint buckets
1x 45L per minute air pump
4x 6" air-stones
2" pvc connecting buckets
1x 800gph Active Aqua inline pump
1x 600w Hydrofarm Phantom Digital w/ Aircooled Daystar Hood
1x 6" Hydrofarm Inline (cools hood)
2x Box fans
2x 4" desk clip fans

Everything that could be insulated is, and my current rez temps are 75.0*f (I know it is too high, I am either going to mod a dehumidifier or buy an aquarium chiller). I'm not sure what else to write at this moment, I'm gonna rip my new quartz castle domeless nail! One love!

I see on the other thread your pH and air temps seem ok, obviously your soil plants are loving it. So we can eliminate environment (except for those reservoir temps but you have a plan for that). That leaves pretty much what you are feeding them and the physical state of the reservoir for your problem source. Can you give us some more information on exactly what you are feeding them and what sort of schedule you are using? Also, how do those roots look? Are they somewhat coated in a brownish slime? High reservoir temps are usually a recipe for the dreaded root rot. About all I can come up with without some more info.

Happy 420 to ya as well ;)

Mahalo nui loa for your reply, was getting slightly dejected. OKay just did a rez change, I am using AN 3 part grow micro bloom. Rez was at about seven hundred ppm, I am going to cut it back to about three hundred ppm for now. Roots are not showing out of the bottom of the net pots yet, I am hoping they will show by the end of the week. Any other information needed?

Good luck with you qp a plant. Do you plan to grow them naturally, mainline, scrog, lst, lolly pop, etc. How long will you veg for?

I don't scrog I'm a sog guy.l. But for What I've seen it depends on the size of your scrog net. Google "how to scrog" and you should find all the helpful tips to get you going.

BiglittleJohn I think was right. Lower those res ppms. Haven't used AN nutes but I'd suspect they have a feeding schedule somewhere you could follow that should break down the strengths your using. Never follow bottle instructions as a general rule, they are usually generic instructions bound to kill your babies.

Definatley get those res temps in check. Sitting buckets in water bath with frozen water bottles is a low cost, if not somewhat labor intensive, method of cooling.

Have you considered using beneficial microbes? They will help a lot! There is a thread here somewhere that details at great length how to brew your own. It works!

I usually have roots hanging out the net pot long before they get that size!

I feel like the roots are taking a minute because these clones came from my buddies ebb and flow table which he neglects a bit.

Rez temps are a constant battle, I already am changing multiple frozen bottles each day.

I'm confused by proper ppm, I was just told on my other post that it should be around 800 ppm. Anyone got any advice on what it should be at, and WHY?

Mahalo bio loa.

Well again I would suggest going to the website here : http://www.advancednutrients.com/hydroponics/calc/ and stick to the instructions provided there. I also found a link to an older nut' calc on their site that has some ppm information listed here http://www.advancednutrients.com/hydroponics/nutrient_calculator_old/ (For the non ph perfect stuff)

I might have been skewing my answer based on my nutrient experience with General Hyrdoponics stuff that apparently runs a lower ppms earlier on.

Also found a general guide to the products here (from a hydro store outfit it looks like) http://www.gchydro.com/pdf/advanced_schedule.pdf At the bottom of that page I found more references to specific ppm information at various points in the process using AN products. They also specifically mention starting rooted clones on that page as well. Think it was 800-1000ppms

And if all else fails, shoot them an email here : [email protected] or give them a skype/ring here : 1.800.640.9605 Since your a medical grow they seem to answer questions about marijuana grows specifically. At least that is what I have read in these cursory google searches, found a few posts from other sites where people had asked direct questions about medical grows so it seems ok to ask :) ( Be sure to mention your starting with clones )

Good luck to you!!

There is no magic # for PPM levels. The plants tell you when it's too much. Tip burn, leaf clawing, ppm levels rising when res level drops and nute lockout. I've found 400-600 works for me in veg, but I let my plants tell me what they want. I don't hit 800 until mid flower. There are all kinds of variables, including the obvious, plant genetics.

I have them rocking at low seven hundred ppm at the moment and will take it from there. Here are the ladies as they sit today, any suggestions?
