having trouble germinating

alright so i used the paper towel method to germinate a few beans.. i did this 2 days ago and they still havent popped open. i dident damp the towels too much cuz i really dident want to drown the seeds ( one bubba kush and one blackberry ) u guys think its alright if i throw a handwarmer on top of the plasttic baggies to raise the temps a lil??

Did you put the paper towels into ziploc baggies? In my HORT class a little while ago I was taught to put the seeds in damp towels. When I say damp towels I have soaked em until all of the excess water runs off and all your left with is a really wet paper towel. Then I wring it out as much as the water as I possibly can. I usually do that to ensure I don't over water the seeds. Then I fold the paper into a standard lunch ziploc bag size. I set my seeds in and wait about five days. Keep your eys on the condition of the temp cause if they get to cold they won't sprout so you definetly want them in 75-80 degrees. Space em out real good and you should have some sprouted seeds in a few days. Hope this helps. Happy Growing. Peace

What i did in my method was wet two paper towels and put the first one in a little plastic container on the bottom. then i put the seed in the middle and the other very damp paper towel on top of it and pressed lightly so it was touching the seed. i closed it and put it in front of a small room heater and in about 15 minutes there was water droplets all over the walls of it which showed it was nice and humid in there which is what you want. seeds cracked in about 48 hrs and then i just popped em in the soil.

++rep to you fellas... One of the two seeds just popped open last night..checked this morning and a little white tail was poppin out of the blackberry seed. Can I go ahead and plant it?

yeah, go ahead and plant it. just be easy and put the tap root down with the seed husk up. you may need to use tweezers, just be gentle.

what should I start the light cycle on??? 20/ 4?? 18/6???

either of those will be fine. plants need darkness though, even though that topic is highly debatable by the gardening community.
