I will be doing a grow an either a 2x2 or 3x3 tent im looking to yield at least a half of pound. Now will having a higher watt led help with a better yield? Like having a 600hps to 1khps. I am going with the led because of heat and electric so please if you have experience tune me in

If using 1 lamp, I would use 40-50 watts per square foot (actual). The better the quality of the diodes and spectrum, the less power you will need.

If using 2 lamps, you can get away with less w.p.s.f. 35-40 maybe.

Finish plants @24". Sog or scrog.

Yes, in general, regardless of the source more watts should get you more yield. However, watts don't tell the whole story. You can use a bunch of poor quality lights to get your high wattage/big yield, or you can get the same or better results using less wattage but of higher quality light. Watts related to spectrum also play a role. But yeah in general, 1kw of led should out yield 600w led. Just know the quality and spectrum of the leds.

There is a threshold for wattage per area. Go over the ideal amount, and you're wasting energy, money, and potentially harming your plants. For a 3x3 area, I recommend approx. 300 watts of high quality spectrum and intensity. Keep your humidity, CO2, pH, ppm, root temp in check, you should be able to rock out some nice plant matter.
