I am growing purple kush and I was just reading a little bit and i read that lst is more for sativa dominant strains which is quite understandable being that sativas get so big. But i also read that if your growing indica that you dont really want to use lst. In my understanding LST is not only for controlling the height but for better light penetration and to have more cola sites. Do indicas still produce well when they are lst'ed? im not doing it because i am worried about the height, but i am using cfl's therefore i need as much light penetration as possible so i figured it would work good. That and i like the idea of having more colas. Post some pics of your indica crop in that you lst'ed. Im curious to see how they turn out.

i am LSTing a purple kandy kush, an afghan kush, and a bubble gum all right now as mothers and i can tell you that they respond VERY well to ANY sort of training ONCE THE ROOTS HAVE SET.

also - after i take 3 or 4 rounds of cuttings, i will flower these, retaining 1 cutting from each round as a new mother until i have 3 of each.

the reason that i train is to - as you have said - make uniform, beautiful, perfect nuggets all over the little hooker - it's like cloning kolas - pure awesomeness.

why would a person not train their plants when growing indoors?

training is the portion where i learn the most about my plants - they love to be handled and admired - gl

if they held the dirt together... ayup

the idea is to bring them all to the same height(the branches and the terminus), tricking the plant into making all of them kolas

also the branches that point down - let them grow - in a day or three they'll grow upward - you can continue training SAFELY for about 1.5-3 weeks into flower, depending on the strain

i train whenthefuckever my plants need it though, because i hate those nasty bitches and i hope they'll hurry the fuck up and DIE so i can burn them to ash and blow them away...nasty bitches

I have some widows I'm training, granted I think they are only 60% indica. This ones taken some damage so she hasn't filled out as nicely as she could have. I left the main cola tied in one spot to long and did it way to early, as you can see I even pulled it down again towards the end. Edit: clearly can't see the top in that pic, lol it's in my sig
