It is hard to quit caffeine, it is one of the most addictive substances. Nicotine is number one, caffeine is number two, alcohol is number three. I quit all three poisons. Coffee has over 400 toxins in it and is very bad for your nervous system. Hope quitting caffeine works for you, I just saved another life kiss-ass.

YES,YES,YES.....This is an old thread I know, but this has been an issue in my life for at least 10 years now. I've gone to all kinds of dr's, searched the web, talked to peers etc.... Let me clarify the sensation, not "pins and needles" like a limb that has fallen asleep but rather tingles like when your funny bone gets hit i.e. NERVE issue. For me it's always there slightly, strongest in hands, then feet then every other square inch on my body even my ear lobes or lips. Anything with texture like sand or a file is tremendously "tingly" or "partically" though anything slick like glass or water its virtually undetectable. When its an intense month I take even a small hit of crafted organic herb and it comes on even before I'm high. usually by morning it levels off considerably though not completely. When I eat LSD or Smoke DMT this sensation comes on like super intense and lasts strong for up to 2 weeks.
I've tried it all b12, sugar, herb strain, mind state. Western doctors dont have a clue and shuffle me out the door, Eastern doctors tell me my wood is low and i need to strenghthen my yang, alternative doctors tell me I'm the beginning of a new kind of human preparing for 2012 and the coming of a new age. All I know is that it #%@! sucks when all I want to do is puff some dank but cant even take a credit card out of my wallet because I have know tactile sensation.
I know theres a couple smart people out there...
1)Strongest in hand nerves, though felt throughout all skin surface
2)the smoother the stimulus the less of the expierience, slight ridges or texture create this "particle" like sensation overcoming any usual touch sensation
3)Induced or at least amplified by three different drugs that work on the body in three different ways
4)Going on for ten years without any other symptoms throughout body besides major backpain, neckpain, ect....(herniated disc?)

If theres Any new knowledge please post, seems like someone with dr/logic skills could narrow down the variables and edjubacate me. I cut down when I have these flare ups, I start up again good for a couple of months and sure enough it comes back, Am I destined to be an alcoholic or worse yet a yoga aficionado.

sincerely

Um someone in this thread earlier said alcoholism can CAUSE what you have, it was on either the first or second page. I'm no doc..but my money goes on either nerve issues or allergic reactions.

Hi guys two plants on the go 2 o'z in a jar and then this happens, this is quoted form another site but it exactly whats happened to me

"hello, i have always consumed cannabis and deriveds, but lately i have had to diminish the frequency of this marvellous habit because of the next problem of which no one seems to know anything and i have not been able to find any info to solve it.

It has happened repeatedly for the past years but randomly. after smoking pot i feel the normal effects, but after a while it gets to a point in wich i start loosing sensibility in my hands, like if they were put to sleep. i feel a strange tingling, like pins and needles in my hands, that gets more intense when touching things. depending on what i touch the feeling gets stronger or softer (touching my skin or hair the sensation is very intense but touching plastic or glass it almost disappears). it is nothing pleasent. when i'm high all my attention goes to this problem almost obsessively. but the worst part is that this disagreeable sensation does not disappear with the marihuana effects, but it lasts even for several days, vanishing little by little.

Nobody, no doctors, no naturists seem to know where this problem comes from or how to solve it. i would appreciate any info about this problem or people to contact to find a solution."

anybody else get this? smoked last night and 15 hours later still feel this

sucks, and before anybody sais it ive been smoking a while and no its not in my head....

any help appreciated
Guys,

It is possible to have nerve iritations from Cannabis. It is not the Cannabis itself but the Grow Ingredients, some growers use for getting large buds and a big harvest.

I'm a daily Cannabis smoker for the past 14 years and I do not have this kind of syntoms because:

1. I did my research and know how to indentify clean Cannabis.
2. I grow 1 time a year my own stash.
3. I throw Cannabis away when it's old (never put it in the fridge)
4. I never smoke weed I didn't saw (e.a. Pre-Rolled Joint)
5. I always keep myself updated witch the changes around Marijuana

I'm from the Netherlands and I can tell you that most coffeeshops sell bad Cannabis.
They just buy the Cannabis from their supplyer and when it doesn't sell, they just don't buy new stuff.

But I go to Coffeeshops like the Greenhouse. The grower is Arjan and I never buyed poisoned Cannabis.

I will say, do some research and grow your own healty Cannabis without all those Chemicals in it.

post from a couple years ago. i also quit the 3 poisons and have felt alot healthier since. cigs and coffee had to go at once just because they went hand in hand. but the booz was easier for me because hangovers suck and are a waste of a whole morning. life is alot better/cheaper without all of them. (save a few thousand a year at least 4gs) and nothing feels better than money in the pocket

This still happens to me to this day. In my case I'm 99% sure it has to do with anxiety. I smoked 2-3 grams a day (or more)for years with no problems until one day, the first time it happened about 10 years ago. I got dizzy and it fell like my left arm and leg were falling asleep or someone hit my funny phone and shortness of breath. I thought I was having a stroke and had my girlfriend drive me to the hospital, by the time we got there it had disappeared.

It happened a few more times after that and I quit for 7 years because I couldn't get an enjoyable buzz anymore without feeling like I was going to stroke out. When I started back smoking again the same thing still happens, the only way I can do it is if I drink a few beers first (which I obviously can't do every time depending on where I am) and it doesn't happen...weird. I'm going to look into finding a strain that combats anxiety and see if maybe that will help.

Alright I know this form is old, but I Had to post on it because I have the same exact problem.
I haven't always had this problem, I've only smoked a few times and last two this has happened to me.The first time I have ever smoked I had problem where there was a lag and couldn't move my body when I wanted to. I got use to it though, but later I got this pain my chest I couldn't breath really well it felt like some one was pressing down on my chest. That was my first. I smoked few times in between that and no problems. Although a month ago, I went to smoke and I took 3 hits and all of a sudden I could feel my whole body tingle. Not that haha my foots a sleep tingling, but a much more painful variation of that. I had hard time touch anything because it, hurt so badly. The worst pain was putting my hand in my pocket. This lasted the whole night. But in the morning there was a Bonus I was high with no tingles. Originally I thought the medication that I had started taking for my migraines called Topamax, so stopped taking that for a month. Two days ago I smoked again and Same thing happened. This time thought the tingling was less painful. I also felt really stupid like goldfish because I had short attention span. Although in the morning I was not high this time, I had the tingly feeling. I had it the whole day. Anyways I have no idea why this has happened to me and came across this looking for a solution. Hope some can relate to it.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume its an allergic reaction to one of the chemicals used during the grow or to the herb it self. Perhaps try switching to a vaporizer and see if you still have the same effects.

Not saying a vaporizer would prevent you from having an allergic reaction but it could potentially reduce the likely hood depending on what the agents vapor point is.... worth a shot. Either that or you need to see a neurologist cause that shit ain't normal.

Either that or all the coughing is pinching a nerve in your neck which can cause similar symptoms.. I know cause Ive been dealing with a pinched nerve for a year now.

Hello! I have had similar problems, numb tingling in hands and legs, all the body in fact and numbness that distorts my sense of touch, feels like my sens of touch is electric, tingling and numb, cant feel details so doing tasks with my hands that include touching is not possible when worst, touch also triggers the feeling. I have started a forum about the subject. Welcome there to continue find the causes for this: burningsenses . forum777 . com (dots separated with spaces cause I guess URL's is not allowed for a new members first post). Peace

I have been fighting tendinitis and weak forearms for the last couple years, my work has been hard on my body and that is how it started. I thought it was marijan I stopped for a month last winter it didnt do a thing. I do thing cannabis will thicken your blood so if you got poor blood circulation to start with it won't help your problem. When you smoke it rushes the blood to your head and sometimes the rest of your body will be neglected that would be why you feel tingly sensation. Most people here saying they had that happening are not chronic users so it is most likely panic attack that you are having from being high and not being used to it. I would like to hear more from chronic long time users.

I would like to start by saying THANK GOD there are other people out there going through this like me. I thought I was going INSANE! Everyone kept saying Pot doesn't do this or cause this etc... I'll go over some of the things I have experienced even though some people have mentioned some very similar things.

My Background in Smoking:
I have smoked weed since I was 15. I have had years of use and many times been so high I couldn't play a video game. I've gotten BLOWN.
I have had a few brief moments in my life where I quit for a while, but would always return to smoking in times of stress...
In the 14 years I have been smoking Marijuana, I have never felt any of the symptoms until about approximately 6 months ago.
Ever since then, EVERY time I smoke, I get the symptoms.

My History of Symptoms:
The First time this happened to me, I had a panic attack and thought I was going to die. My family wanted to rush me to the ER, but I insisted not to because I knew it was weed related, and I hoped it would go away. Plus I don't have insurance and it would have been expensive. (Sad but true. I actually support Universal Healthcare. Off topic sorry)

That day, I literally FREAKED Out. I had never experience anything like I did.

The first symptom I noticed is the circulation in my hands went away completely. (It was extremely cold and it took about 20 minutes for it to happen which is normal in cold environments)
Once I warmed them up, I noticed the infamous tingle. Not quite like the pins a needles you feel as a limb awakens, but an intense numb tingle. I could not identify textures or feel a cup in my hand. I even dropped a glass cup on the floor shattering and getting all the attention of everyone at my party. Once this happened, everyone rushed to my aid (the close ones at least) and tried to help me. I would go through attention spans where I could not understand what was going on, then I'd come back. I would stare in the mirror and it would snap who I was after a long blank stare. I remember EVERYTHING. My first inclination was that I had smoke some laced weed. Not the case. The other 5 people smoking the same joint didn't have a single one of my symptoms.
Putting my hands in my pockets was impossible at first. I learned after many times of this happening how to manage it, but this should NOT be happening. My hands wouldn't do what I wanted them to do at first. I learned to manage that as well by looking at where my hands are and carefully feeling every finger on what I was holding or slowly moving. I noticed when I moved slow, that is was less intense. Picking keys out of my pockets was almost impossible. Pulling my wallet out was actually IMPOSSIBLE the first few times it happened. I just couldn't feel where my hand was and all feeling was replaced by tingle.

I must mention, the first time this happened was after a LONG weekend in Vegas getting shitfaced and little sleep. When I smoked I was absolutely spent from the weekend and had little energy.

So. After that first time, I woke up in the morning thanking God for my life. I realized that there was something seriously wrong and it was almost a spiritual experience for me. I quit smoking for a few months after this happened and cleaned up my act. Nonetheless, I smoked again after a while and it happened again.

Every time it's happened I have been able to cope with it better and better up to a point. It is still INSANELY uncomfortable, and when I smoke and go to a nightclub and it happens, even putting my hand a on a girls back is impossible. I can't feel where my hands are or what they are touching. If I press hard, I can feel again minimally. This has on numerous occasions stopped me from having a good time at a club. I have always smoked when I go to a nightclub, because I feel no nervous feeling around girls. I'm able to be myself, and not to mention, I can drive home safe and remember what happened the night before as opposed to drinking.

It happened literally every time I smoked after this point. Every single time, no exception. I noticed the more I smoke, the more the intensity. If I smoke literally one or two hits and get a head high, it very minimal. I feel tingling, but not to the point of insanity. Now if I smoke a lot, it's unbearable. To the point where no matter what I do, I have to stop.

I was at a nightclub in New York on vacation (I live in Cali and have been smoking the most fire Cali has to offer) and this happened to me. I played it cool at first. It then got so intense, I left 10 minutes after paying $50 to get in to see a very famous EDM DJ. There were CRAZY HOT GIRLS EVERYWHERE and ALL I could think about was going home. It's debilitating. I ate some food and drank a bunch of water and it seemed to slow down. I unlike others in the forum don't get it for days or weeks. It usually goes away after I sleep, with slight remnant of it the next day. I occasionally feel like I have poor circulation in my arms and hands now, but ever so slightly.

I should mention, I am about 40 lbs overweight and I was a HEAVY Cigarette Smoker and Alcohol consumer for 10 years...

Now to my thoughts. Everything I have done in my life has beaten my body up. However, this ONLY happens when and immediately after smoking Marijuana. The first thing I think is that there may be some chemical inside the bud these days that they grow with causing nerve reactions like this. Second, I agree with many, that there is an underlying issue with the people feeling this, and it may not be related to the actual marijuana. I think I may have poor circulation, and the marijuana seems to intensify it. I smoke the same weed as my friends and they have no issues.

I smoked tonight and it happened again. I was with a girl at the club and shortly after smoking, I couldn't even feel her while I was dancing. All I felt was pressure, and it killed my night. That's why I google searched and found ya'll. If anyone with these symptoms wants to talk about it or share any research/solutions/theories they have found, please email me at daoudawad @ aol . com (Subject: Marijuana Tingling)

I saw the other forum created and there is no one really chiming in like the masses here...

I want to smoke again without feeling this, and I know with all of our minds, we can figure this out...

This same thing happened to me recently - the tingling in my hands has not gone away for a few days now. It hasn't been a problem for me like some here, for me it feels nice, touching my hair and face and very enjoyable activities now xD but i appreciate that more intense numbness could be bad in certain situations. I also feel like my hands are heat proof lol which could lead to me getting burnt.

anyway to shed light on this mystery-

I am in great shape, eat well, work out all the time, read a lot, in a loving low stress environment, - so that rules all that stuff out. I do however have quite low blood pressure.

I first got this feeling of numb hands when I smoked a fair bit (I smoke a couple of times a week for a few years) and I was massaging my girl.

at the time it felt like that rhythm of rubbing with my hands seemed to set it off. It would ONLY occur when I was rubbing in a constant quite hard pressure. As soon as i released my hands the feeling went. my body was also twisted so maybe the blood circulation wasn't good at that time.

After a few weeks I smoked a fair bit and bam - I wake up with tingly hands when ever i touch something. a few days later and here i am. it's just like when I was massaging my girl, but permanent now. no phases on and off, all the time. I don't feel feint at all which I get if my blood pressure is too low. there is something else at work here.

Did you guys ever get this feeling for the first time at a particular point when you were stoned before?

interestingly it really hasn't faded much if at all in the last few days which is pretty weird.

but you guys shouldn't label it as a problem when it isn't really. It's a genuinely nice feeling, that most people would be jealous of.

anyway, hope this helps some people worried about their health.

I googled this on a whim and now feel like I have a new avenue to search. I initially didn't even consider that the problem could be from weed itself, and am still skeptical this is the case. I strongly believe the pot is just highlighting another condition or illness but, at this point, it's pretty much impossible to rule out anything.

I first experienced this sensation roughly 9 months ago after literally smoking more than half of my life. I first smoked pot at 12 years old, I will turn 30 this year. In that time the longest "break" I took was a month spent in Italy smoking hash because flowers are basically non-existent there. I hadn't even experienced anything remotely "bad" from any drug experimentation in my life prior, and I've done enough LSD/shrooms/mescaline/peyote to get a small country tripping. So, no, it is not because I got "too high" or had an anxiety attack.

The first symptomatic experience caused quite a bit of alarm and, since my family has a history of heart disease, I decided a trip to the ER was in order. Specifically, the fact that it was my left arm and leg that were symptomatic suggested heart trouble as a high probability. When I arrived my vital signs were normal, heart rate and BP were slightly elevated but, to quote the ER Doctor "No one shows up to the ER totally calm without being on some serious medication." EKG and blood work all came back normal so they said I may have just had low electrolyte levels and to buy a Gatorade on the way home. I woke the next day symptom free and continued smoking as usual.

This past Thursday, the 7th, I smoked at around 11pm and spent the next two hours veg'd out playing video games(Barkley, Shut up and Jam: Gaiden FTMFW) and having a great time. Then, very gradually, I started to feel light headed, followed by nausea and finally by the return of the tingling. Since previous experience had suggested electrolytes as a factor, I drank a Smart Water and made myself zucchini for some added quick potassium. The symptoms prevailed for roughly 4 hours(5am, for those counting) with me being unable to fall asleep. Again, when I woke in the morning I felt absolutely fine and shrugged it off as dehydration. Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday were normal days. Sunday, as usual, I played disc golf and smoked a ridiculous amount of weed with several friends as we played. This is par for the course. Things were fine until, again, several hours after a bong hit late Sunday evening. Before you go AHA! and claim my bong as the culprit, let me say that I clean it religiously every single day with only warm water and rock salt. Bowl, downstem, full beaker. Everything. It is also my main smoking device. The symptoms again lasted several hours and I was finally able to sleep around 4am.

Now this is where I get truly concerned. We are a full 120 hours since the last time I used marijuana in any form and, though diminishing, the symptoms have not subsided. Every time I think they have gone away they simply return, suddenly, within a couple of hours. After waking Monday and still feeling the same way, I went to the doctor for a full blood workup including thyroid and other metabolic tests which all came back normal. My cholesterol is low, platelets and red blood cells are all well within normal ranges... fifty different tests and nothing the doctor deemed abnormal. That provided some comfort, but the problems persist. My first thought was poor diet, so I have been watching what I eat more closely(I already eat fairly healthfully simply because I enjoy cooking and eating good food) but have seen no improvement. I started taking a raw food multivitamin, already drink water or fruit juices almost exclusively etc. I would not consider myself "athletic" but I'm no couch potato, either.

Then my friend texts me saying he just got sent home from work for puking at his desk today. I ask how long he's been feeling ill and he says since Friday, the last time he came over and we got high together. If he had just said he had the stomach flu or something, I would never think it was related. He then starts telling me how it's "weird because I've had tingling in my left arm and leg all week" and that the symptoms will come and go in intervals of several hours. I then text my other friends I smoked with earlier in the week to see if any of them are sick, without mentioning specific symptoms, and the one I recently picked up a stash with says "Ya, I've been nauseous and had weird tingling feelings all week. Fucking weird. Why, what's up?" To further complicate matters, the herb I smoked Thursday evening is different from the herb I smoked Sunday evening. Different grower, different strain, in fact one is organic indoor soil grow and the other indoor hydro with unknown nutrients. The herb smoked during the day Sunday was probably 10 different strains from various places. Always the best SoCal(and, realistically, the world) has to offer, though.

After talking to my family about these issues, my brother calls me up and says he had the same thing happen about two weeks ago. I haven't seen him in over a month and we get our weed from completely different places. His initial experience was sudden and strange, but also went away after several hours. A few days later, he experienced severe nausea and tingling that lasted over a week. His doctor visits provided no insight and he wrote it off as a "weird bug."

So, ya. Here I am. Sorry for the lengthy post, I try to be thorough and consider as many possibilities as I can. I don't necessarily expect to glean much more useful information from this but, as it seems this thread has brought many a worried stoner from Google, maybe it can help someone else in the future... Even if just to prove to themselves, and others, that they aren't crazy.

Someone earlier mentioned Nitrate toxicity as a possible culprit. With the abundance of hydro based grows and the money driven MMJ market pushing growers to new extremes, I find this scenario a distinct possibility. Though the vast majority of herb I smoke has been flushed beautifully, not ALL of it is perfect. I will be sending a hair sample for testing of heavy metals, pesticides and other toxins and report back with the results.

Also, for the person who posted a list of anxiety symptoms and wrote off every single individual experience as a "head trip:" That list contains signs of any number of serious conditions including Hepatitis B, cirrhosis of the liver, hypoglycemia, diabetes, poor thyroid function, etc. and it is far more likely that the symptoms are inducing anxiety as opposed to being a result of anxiety. So, for others reading, don't be so quick to write these feelings off. Follow up with a healthcare professional over taking the word of an anonymous internet know-it-all.

I should also note that, though other drugs and alcohol were a big part of my youth, I have not taken a recreational drug aside from marijuana in over 7 years and I do not drink often or in large quantities any longer. I watch my sugar intake carefully, avoiding soda and other sweets, and was never a fan of coffee or energy drinks etc. I have no reason to have developed carpel tunnel syndrome, nor any occupational or continued exposure to chemicals that I am aware of.

Law of probability... What is more likely, that people search this subject and this thread is one of the top links(try it yourself) or some guy has spent four years creating fake accounts to perpetuate falsehoods?

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm indeed.

I know people are reluctant to think that others can have experiences that do not line up with their own, but your post is taking paranoia to a new level.

I has something like happen like 12 years ago, I used to smoke a lot more but because of it I don't smoke that much anymore. I think its some sort of panic attack, and psychological, not really related to poison bud or anything. I had panic attacks also a few times later not related to smoking at all, and its very close to the same experience.
