Have an issue I have not faced before, Help please

I posted this in Hempy buckets before I saw this forum.

I just cleaned up the buckets from my last grow, 5 gallon coco/growstones, and in both buckets I had very little roots in the reservoir of the bucket. The growstone I used in the reservoir was loose and had very few roots in them.
I did not get the expected results from this last grow and now I am sure this was the reason. My question is what would cause this? I am sure my interface between the growstone and coco mix was good. I have not run into this before and if its something I need to fix I want to do so right away.
Now I am wondering if I am not having the same problem with this grow. I do not believe the plants are drinking enough and are not thickening up as I expected.
I need some advice please!

Well I believe I have found the problem, but not sure what caused it.
Taking a looking inside the drain hole of the bucket it if fucking ugly. Nasty looking roots, almost slimey. Also, while taking this pics I saw a number of gnates probably fungal since this is coco, a dozen or more in each flying around each bucket as I was draining them to put in fresh nutes. Have not had this problem before.
Any ideas, feeling like a nube not being able to figure this out.
I have three weeks flower left, is there any thing I can do?

I could sure use some help here!

I was talking to a friend in Oregon about this and he said I should try, a combination of Dutch Masters Zone Root Zone Conditioner and Cannazym. My G/F picked it up for me at the Hydro shop and I started the treatment Friday, I will be using it in every feeding till flush and harvest. Will be feeding at reduced rates till the root system strengthen or basically till harvest, which should be around the 7th, but may carry them a bit longer due to this issue.
I could really use some help with this, making sure what I am doing is ok.
Also going to wait till the coco dries a bit more before water/nutes, being Hempy buckets I have never face this problem with coco.
I treated the buckets with powdered BTi in water and drinched (75 to 100% runoff). Hopefully that will take care of larva and the maggots hatched from them.
As far as the gnats flying around the buckets I read that neem oil will work to eliminate them. I had some a friend gave me a few yrs ago to treat aphids on my roses, so I gave it a try. I put the oil in a spray bottle with water and sprayed the surface of the coco, bam, as of this morning there are no gnats at all flying around the buckets. Yippy!

Thanks

Your right they always say pH, LOL bongsmilie
My pH is always in the 5.7 to 5.9 range. My nutes are never over 800 ppm, and that's rare, mostly under 700 ppm.
im for rile about finished with this web sight, there pricks then when your a prick back they act like you was the 1 being the prick, and god luck getting any help unless you got boobs,me and my gf both have been threaten that our profile will be removed kuz i had her ask questions

@weednurdIf it makes you feel any better, I spent 5 years on this site and folks thought I was a girl until I added the black box to my avatar.

@gr865 , if I didn't know any better I would think those pictures are of a bowl of something from a Chinese restaurant. bongsmilie Looks like the start of root rot and I think your friend in OR has given you good advice. I would add that you should get a 2 pack of mosquito dunks and run one (or maybe both) thru. Flying fungus gants are annoying but its the larvae that do all the damage. And trust me when I tell you there are a shit ton of larvae in those pots

wn420,
I hope you did not think I was being a prick for my response to the information that I though you meant for me. The response was just stating the facts of my situation.
I am sorry if I offended you. It was not my intention.
It is hard to get any help, not like the old day when I first started indoor grows, there was always folk giving good and bad advice, you had to wade thru them. Never though about the lady think, I normally don't look at the person's profile or name even unless I want to respond to them.

Are you running organic nutes? Whats your res temps? Are you doing any maintenance for slime/bacteria etc?

I was in that thread.....nobody was "Picking on you" while "helping the girl with boobs". You got on here acting like someone else when your question didnt get answered after 7 minutes, so you posted as someone else (or have more than 1 acct which is why people were saying something) and continually lied about it time after time when you got called out. Nobody didnt help you cuz you were a guy, but because you acted like a dick about it when someone called you out on being a liar and impatient. You were asked for pics ***when you were the one who offered them up***. When you got asked for a timestamp on the generic pic you provided....you pulled a Houdini and disappeared. Quit playing the victim dude & let it go.

How would anyone know if you had your girlfriend ask questions?

HR,
I am in a coco Hempy, 75/25 coco/growstone with growstone res. No res temps, when water/nutes it's at room temps.
I use GH Micro Grow and Micro Bloom as my 2 main nutes.
Yes, treating with each watering, Dutch Masters Zone and Cannazym, just started Friday. Will continue this till final flush.

I am fairly sure that the problem is the gnats, just surprised and pissed I did not catch it sooner.
Hey thanks for your response,

I got my first warning over it. He still says it wasn't him. He sent me a pm about it and I, because I'm nice, let this dude know his plants were going into flower and he needed more p&k.

He has no patience. I tried to help him. Whatever.

Op,

Looks like root root. You should pick up an enyzyme cleaner like pondzyme, z-7 ect. This is if you are running a sterile rez. Meaning no organic nutes. Just salt based like General hydroponics flora or so.etching like that.

If you are using organics, then get a beneficial bacteria. Great white or something.

What do you use in your nute soup?

HG,
So many conversations going on, I hope your talking to me.
I am growing in coco/growstone hempys, so passive hydro DTW.
Nutes based on H3ad's formula for coco, only I found it to hot so I modified it.
It is very basic:
4ml GH FloraMicro, 6ml GH FloraBloom, 1.5ml Cal/Mag and 1 gram Epsom.
I back off the FloraMicro to 2ml late in the grow then 0ml up to one week before harvest,
In mid flower I add KoolBloom liquid at a rate of 3 to 4ml/gal. I was going to start adding KoolBloom dry product but not sure now with this problem hitting late in the grow.
I want to keep my ppm under 700 as the Exodus Cheese is very nute sensitive.

Thanks

You could use eyzyme cleaners. Slimy roots is root. You need to read about ways to combat root.

Insulate the root zone to keep it cooler.

Pondzyme or h2o2. H2o2 converts into water after 2-4 days.

I personally use flying skull z-7. It is a 2 part enzyme cleaner and a water conditioner.

Just add enzyme cleaner or h2o2 to your nutes.

HG,

Hey Bud, thanks for the info much appreciated!
I do use two products that my buddy in MN recommended.
Dutch Master Zone, a root zone cleanser, and Cannazym. Going light on the nute with this damaged system.
Going to give this a few days to work out, just checked a couple of the Hempy buckets and looking into the drain holes, see pics above, two of the three I checked I could see new root growth.
Wait and see,
