Have a 400w ballast sunlight supply ss1 unsure of bulb type?

I recently picked up a 400w grow light sun systems. I cant seem to figure out why it came with 2 bulbs why the person had 2 bulbs when the only thing I can see is sunlight supply 400w hps ballast ss-1 doesn't say anything about mh but at this point im unsure came with 2 bulbs and does not have any switches except for on off

ok never mind this post I don't know how to delete but my ballast was made for hps. But for some reason someone had bought a mh bulb and might have been using it.

lucky my ballast is rated fairly dependable for a magnetic and appears to be still working good I was kinda worried.

I have been told the mh could would work in the ballast but will blow out or shatter after a short time.

kinda sucks because I was convinced I was buying a dual ballast but see no switches and it clearly says hps.

I was hoping to be able to veg with this light however im pretty close to flipping the light so ill just leave it be.

Could anyone tell me if I used the same hood and socket and just picked up a newer dual ballast would it work provided the plug is the same???

How about just save your money and use the hps. I use a 600w hps in my veg, works like a champ. ( I also have 1 cfl on each side) see pic

My old SS-1 HPS is 430 watts. Great ballast only repairs was a new cap after 15 years of use. And yes they will veg fine under HPS.
