i have a cfl grow and 2 plants in shitty mg soil one in a 7 gallon pot and another in a 5 gallon pot one is indica other is sativa.

im starting week 4 of flowering and the week before i noticed on my sativa i had one lower bud site that turned brown seemed like half the bud site was brown like burnt so i cut it off and trimmed off a few burnt looking leaves.

Now here it is week 4 and i just flushed my indica 3 days ago and i wake up today and notice the same type of burnt looking brown budsite on my indica so far im only seening one site on the taller plant i had 2 sites burnt.

I have a few grows under my belt but im still alil green to this problem .

any ideas as to whats causing this and what i can do to stop anymore buds from browning up

yeah man it's shitty soil and poison for cannabis.
If your plants are for shit in MG, transplant into cannabis friendly media, with friendly fertz.

Make the most out of what you have left. Be gental and water in with a stress reliever tonic as this will help the plant to rebound and shoot out new roots. You can increase you poor harvest if you act now. Not by a lot but it will be better than if you just leave her in MG soil. GL -

ok so im using a box fani thought i was seeing nute burn that was heavy which i kinda was at first so i flushed em both out like 4 days ago now all the sudden like 3 weeks in even 2 and a half i noticed one or 2 buds go brown so so far i lost 3 bud sites mostly lower ill be lucky to get a half out of 2 plants i bet so i must have over watered a couple of times.

the only other question is what can i do differently water less? use the fan even when the lights are of because before i just mostly used it when they where on.

The humidity is to high in the room get a dehumidifier or just leave the fan on all the time. I know what it's like to have to use mg soil but truthful the soil you buy at the dollar tree is better for your plants then that crap. I used it for awhile and had never ending nute burn and problems.

As the others have said, repot your plants in better soil, not MG and leave your fan on. The risk is worth it; if you don't you have a much higher risk of both your plants just rotting on the stalk with mold.

well i have the dehumidify going at 50% and ive trimmed most of the shade leaves from the indica off allowing the bud sites to get better airflow plus i was told id be likely to get more bud exposing the sites with indica.

I touched both pots and they where very light when picked up today so the soil is somewhat really dry this is after running the fan and humidifyer for 3 days so far today i havent seen anything browning up and dying off.

If i should transplant then im thinking hyponex which has half the amount of n mg has or should i just go with mg organic.

and ya ive seen those lil white bags for a 1$ id need 40 of them prolly for both plants.

and ya what i think happend is i dident have the fan on em cuz the double blade one i had fell on its speed switch and wont turn on no more so its toast.

Then last week i went and said this thing is burning so i went and flushed it out and a bunch of brownish yellow water came out on the bottom ran it clear this was at 3pm last week so im thinking what happend was when i turned the lights off at 6pm the room remained dark and cool around 60-65 as i had my window open and the humidity got right in plus all of that water i ran threw them and no air movement all night just added to the humidity so then when the lights came on the next day the room warmed up and made the humidity come right up out of the soil once again with no air movement and they started to turn.

Adding the box fan and using the dehumidifyer seems to have been doing something my soil is almost completely dry as of today.

The only problem is light leak my box fan is big so i have to put it in the doorway to the closet to blow on the plants i dont want anymore problems so hopefully alil computer screen light leak wont be enough to harm it or either that i needa find a smaller fan so i can put it in the closet and close the door still.

One thing i forgot was to not water a plant at the end of the day so flushing them out at almost night wasnt the best idea i needa start watering them in the morning
